    why not just call dish and tell them he want's to buy one for the 100.00 🤔 ??? that's what we did and we charged it to our acct... they came out and installed it and activated it!!! No issues other than the mix up but that's been sorted out :)

    That's not how taxes work. This is a write-down of an intangible asset that would have been setup in purchase accounting. The only tax impact is a book/tax adjustment. It doesn't actually change the income tax paid or calculated.

    I just viewed my February dated invoice online and for the first time ever, I'm being billed $.48 for taxes (which I suspect is the $6.00 DVR fee x 8%) I'm located in central NYS near Syracuse. The DISH CSR had no clue and told me to contact NYS Taxation Dept. I've never been billed for any...

    I don't think i have ever gotten a refund.. So, not a problem for me. And if i do get a piddly refund, i just apply it to next year.
