Kids programming gone from PBS mux?

Does anyone know what happened to the kids programming on the PBS mux? Back when AMC 3 had PBS programming there seemed to be a lot of kids programming from around 6:00 to 8:00 EST. I got involved in other things and PBS moved to AMC 21. When I finally realigned to AMC 21 it seemed like...

    PBS/Create on 123.0 West Galaxy 18?

By the way... My receiver was still set for the AMC 3 frequencies when I had my "Discovery" . Maybe if you tried your AMC 3 frequencies you might have some luck? I read on another post that the frequencies mirrored each other on both AMC 3 and AMC 21. Good luck Inno!

    PBS/Create on 123.0 West Galaxy 18?

I wish you luck. G18 and G21 are so close together that I was getting both at the same time. (G18 was a little off.) I'd aim for G18 and just bump a little bit. Isn't it cool to find Satellites in the cold dark Autumn skies? :)

    PBS/Create on 123.0 West Galaxy 18?

Well, this is still the coolest forum on the net :) Thanks for the answers. I notice now (since you've mentioned it) that Mike Kohl's site has "125.0 West AMC-21 coming soon" I didn't notice this before. No channel listings at all for it. I didn't even know that there was a new bird up...

    PBS/Create on 123.0 West Galaxy 18?

Had a strange thing happen to me tonight.... I was out realigning my old primestar antenna that I use for AMC 3. After aligning this antenna I went to the front of the house to align my Fortec dish which is aimed at G10 (Sorry, I notice that it's G18 now). The memory of my Fortec receiver was...

Enter to WIN: Sadoun Digipower SG2100 Motor Giveaway!

I think that someone else said this.... I want to win the Moteck Motor from Sadoun! "Let us also know how you intend to us the motor and why?" To be able to motorize a bigger dish. Thanks for sponsoring us!

Difference between Standard and Universal LNBs?

Something that I wish that I knew when I bought mine - Doesn't a universal have a 22khz switch built in, making it incompatible with an external switch? If this is true, I wish that I had known when I purchased my LNB's.

    Multiple LNB's on a 12' BUD.

Pete, Stefan, and rdel, Thank you for the replies. I'm glad to know that it can be done. I appreciate the pictures, and the explanation of signal rejection. It appears that the scalar ring has been cut to insert the KU lnb's (in the photographs). I would think that this would cut down on...

    12' BUD vs. 8' BUD

I have the chance to get two free dishes. Both are small mesh, with one being 8'. The other is a 12'. I've have no experience with BUD's (nothing over 36 inches really.) Naturally, I want to go for aligning the twelve footer right away. How does a BUD compare to a small dish for aligning...

    Multiple LNB's on a 12' BUD.

Recently I was offered a 12' BUD (mesh) which I think that I'm going to take. I was wondering about the possibility of attaching multiple ku-band LNB's to track adjacent satellites. Does a BUD has too tight a focal point to allow for the separation (spacing)? I hope this question makes...

    NASA tv is gone

I've always assumed that NASA would be one of the last to go. (Public funding) Is this a good assumption? By the way - Just about every other moment has been a "D'OH" moment for me lately. :)

    Cheapest AC3 Decoder I've found.

Katrinasucks, Welcome back! :) Wish that that deal would have been around when I was looking. The question has come up recently, and I'm certain someone will appreciate it. Tim

    Non-Lyngsat satellites

Wow, I'm really starting to get lost in all of this information. It seems like a lot of the links go into detail on this and then fizzle out before actually showing results(or maybe I'm just getting confused?). I was really interested in link about using c-band on amc 4 with a twinhan...

Enter Here To Win: 1.2 Meter Dish And Stand

It's pretty hard to list just one tip that I've learned from Sadoun. I've learned so much from his installation pages. Especially this one: http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/HH-mount-installation.htm

    Non-Lyngsat satellites

I know that this is starting to diverge from a FTA thread, but could I ask what sort of antenna and receiver would be needed for this? (Maybe this is still considered Free to Air?) If the 4000 dollar receiver is standard, I think that I might rapidly loose interest.

    PIDS N stuff.

If anyone is interested , this page explains things like PID's, symbol rates, 4:2:2, DCII, DBS, DSS, etc. I know that a lot of you are well versed in these things, but maybe others (like me) might benefit from looking through this: http://www.coolstf.com/mpeg/index.html Some stuff might be...

    Satellite Map

Sweepy, Originally got this from Pete. Still the coolest map that I've ever seen: http://www.boeing.com/defense-space/space/bss/launch/980031_001.pdf Don't forget to zoom in. Looks great printed on glossy paper.

    Non-Lyngsat satellites

Some information on ) Low-Rate Information Transmission (LRIT): http://noaasis.noaa.gov/NOAASIS/ml/satservices.html Edit: Ouch! Looks like these aren't hobby receivers. Seems like everything I found was in the $4,000 + range...

    Non-Lyngsat satellites

It seems that both the polar orbit, and and GOES satellites still transmit data using radio facsimile. I sort of remember reading something about building a receiver setup using a radio facsimile machine back in the '80's (Wow). From this link...

    Non-Lyngsat satellites

I don't want to sound like an expert on this - I just read it off of another website, but NOAH apparently downlinks at 137MHz. :( It looks like reception is possible for a couple hundred dollars though: http://www.hobbyspace.com/Radio/WeatherSatStation/index.html...

    WYDN-TV Boston AMC 3

Would you all mind humoring me for a second? This is one of those ideas that has no reason, but will stick in the back of my mind until I prove it wrong. I'm wondering if those with Fortec receivers and a universal LNB, have success blind scanning WYDN, while those using a standard do not...
