Bally Sports RSNs Are Reportedly Preparing For Bankruptcy

So did Diamond tell Charter, Comcast, etc about them not wanting to carry MLB next season during their last negotiations? If not could they sue Diamond for misrepresention of some sort and cancel the contracts? What does Diamond gain by doing this? Earn enough money to pay their executives their...

    Replacing Dish Network Options?

If we ever drop Philo to get the sports and news channels, this is what we'll do. Get Sling Orange&Blue with FrndlyTV for the channels not on the basic package. At $64.99/month, it's still cheaper than any of the other services.

Bally Sports RSNs Are Reportedly Preparing For Bankruptcy

Isn't that what things like MLB.TV are for?

    What happened to CW?

I think overall, it's an improvement over the the last few years. The Arrowverse really took a dump towards the end.

    Dish Olympic Coverage

Kinda pisses me off that Peacock will not be offering the Olympics in 4K! Why have a streaming service and not have a huge event in 4K? Isn't that the advantage of a streaming service, 4K? Offering it only on a special version of USA Network is plain stupid.

    Youtube TV sub losses

I know that. I was questioning why sub to ESPN and another service that ESPN will be in?

There is barely any scripted content anytime of the year on broadcast/cable anymore.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

All live tv is like that though. You could DVR the news. But by the time you watch it, anything important will show up on your phone beforehand.

Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

You're probably correct. I don't see anything illegal or immoral about selling your product directly to consumers. For people like me, this is a great product. I'll be able to sub when I want to college bowl and CFP games or March madness. I watched March Madness and currently NHL playoff games...

Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

I'm paying $40.99 with WOW! for 300/20 (although I am getting closer to 40 down). 123.net is now in my town offering fiber. $59 for 250/250, $69 for (I think) 600/600 and $79 for 1 gig/1 gig. My wife won't approve a switch because of the price increase. WOW! has been very stable for me since...

Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

They collapsed with a terrible stretch in March. They kinda didn't deserve to make the playoffs after that. But they did get 6 points in the last four games (all OT games). Damn, just one more point from either out of the two loses and they would have been in.

Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

I just watched the Pistons for the novelty of watching BSN Detroit via ota. They did win one of the two games I watched. And the Wings were in the playoff hunt. They did win their last two games against Montreal. Those games were pretty exciting. The Wings came from behind to go to OT in both games.

Cable is going away because it won't let you pick and choose smaller packages to bundle. Very few cord-cutters use the internet cable replacements and instead pay for various VOD services. My wife and I go through what we watch every year and drop or add these services. When I dropped cable six...

Traditional Providers Losses, the entire year of 2023 Edition

The loss of channels that are merely duplicates of other channels or devoid of new programming would actually benefit consumers. Most channels only broadcast three or four new series in a week filling most of the time with reruns. Combining three or four channels worth of new programming into...

The money I saved in the last 6 years has more than paid for the tv I bought since I cut the cord. I'm currently saving $100/month compared to what I paid in 2018. Although I have only saved about $70/month in some years (we always evaluate what we watch every year). Thanks to Black Friday...

They can't get too stupid with pricing. It is ala carte and people can chose not to buy.

Warner, Fox, Disney to Launch Streaming Sports Joint Venture

I'm thinking it will probably start at $40 and go up in price by $5 every year. I might be able to afford this since I'm only paying $25/month for Philo. I'll be retiring at the end of the year, so I will have more time to watch 3 hour games. My work hours just don't allow me to start watching a...

Netflix becomes home to all WWE content, including RAW, Smackdown, and live events

Peacock isn't a threat to Netflix. Besides look at the NFL. Games on other networks and services are advertised all the time on a game.

    NFL 2023-2024 Season

Do you really think that it would have been that much higher on a Saturday night? I think maybe 10% higher, but 23 million is pretty impressive no matter where it was televised.

    T-Mobile Netflix Rate Increase

If you have any doubts about how effective HDR is, watch the Harry Potter movies (especially the last two) on 4k discs. The shadows in the Blu-Rays were far too dark. You can actually see the details on the 4K discs.

    Apple TV + price increase

Not only that but these are all ad-free with some 4K. You won't get this on Dish Flex.
