I'm still running original firmware on my 2500A. It suffers from the spaz too. Once in a while the quality jumps from 0 to 99. And IA5 & IA6 are still Telstar... Not a big deal. A little edit fixed that. I guess the biggest reason to update is to have all of the newer sats & transponders...

Doing a blind scan as mentioned above may just do the trick. SOmetimes the stock receiver transponders that are used in your box may be lower power than others on the same satellite. A blind scan will add the other TP's and you can use one of them to 'fine tune' by nudging or leaning on the...
