EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Well, the difference there was the private equity firm smothered the company in debt to buy Toys R Us. Ergen smothered Dish with debt to try and save it.

That is at least a start.

    Its TEAM SUMMIT week!

It'd let people know these things exist. If I didn't have Dish and post here, I almost certainly wouldn't know about Boost Infinite.

    Its TEAM SUMMIT week!

I was expecting Boost to bundle with Sling. I have no idea why they haven't paired the brands together.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

It doesn't need to be evil corp raises prices. It can be as simple as Amazon is spending a fortune to broadcast one stupid NFL game a week! I don't want my rates increasing for that. But we are, oddly enough, going back to bundling already, but it is a bit worse as it is more fragmented...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I rarely saw people leaving here because of customer service. Generally the angriest people were complaining about not getting a sweetheart deal. And if anything, Dish's chat team, both here and online was awesome!

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

On the other hand, lots of people here were churning for whatever 2 year deal they could get their hands on. It is hard to fight for customers to stay when they have no intention of staying at all. - DVR killed ad rates - Newer generation has weened away from Cable/Sat packages altogether -...

    Its TEAM SUMMIT week!

I read online that they are introducing a new book, Dish Network the Novel. Chapter 11 is supposed to be real interesting.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

What? Dish's problems aren't customer service. I'm still with Dish because they have allowed for cutting the costs without compromising all too much. Dish's problem is what everyone else is dealing with Cable/Sat wise and Charlie seeing the writing on the wall and loading up the company with a...

I couldn't imagine being vegan. Pescatarian is about as good as I can manage.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I've never heard a vegetarian say that. I did try to return a veggie burger at the Burger Priest in Ontario because it was too good to be a veggie burger, but it was.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I think the no revenue from this investment could be a bigger issue. I mean, yeah, the debt is bad, but if you have revenue, you generally get more options for rolling the debt. Dish's SEC filing stopped just short of saying they were going to need to talk to "Tony at the corner" about a loan...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Of course, if Dish isn't going to make money with their 5G system, it doesn't matter if they've deployed their service to 105% of the US population. Admittedly, I just made this one up. :D

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

My general rule is when Scott pours out the gasoline and torches the web board on fire, that is the time to panic on Dish. But according to Dish's SEC filings, not some financial guru, but what Dish itself is saying, things are not looking great. Indeed, $16 a share is still not that bad...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

What is "That doesn't sound good?" Regarding 5G however: Well, that sounds better. But if they don't start making huge in-roads to monetizing that, it won't matter. I think one thing Dish needs to do is hire a competent advertiser. The one thing I wonder, they have proven the speed, but do...

    Please DISH get METV back!

I always thought of New Haven being the dividing line between Boston and NYC or the end of the "suburbs" of NYC.

    Please DISH get METV back!

It is a small time channel. The odd thing is, they don't have MeTV. That'd be channel 19 (big one) and 6 (?). Apparently I get 35 with good strength and they've changed what they carry... again... so I need to add it to the channel list.

    Please DISH get METV back!

ME-TV Toons is on channel 35 in Cleveland area. What in the heck is channel 35?! I get Hartford not getting it, but I don't get New Haven. A couple stone throws away.

    Dish Anywhere and Folders

Now that you say that, for my case, I had two races in the folder. One of them, an older event, was individually visible down the list of programming in the App. But the more recent event was not.

    Dish Anywhere and Folders

I've noticed an odd thing. I was trying to start a recording on Dish Anywhere, and I couldn't see the recording. I checked the schedule and it said it was there. Went to the receiver, and it was recorded, but stored in the racing folder I created. Is Dish Anywhere unable to see programs put in...

Dish contract ends 28Apr2024 - any reason to renew?

Man, I still have the 2012 Carling Cup final on my EHD. Three or four Super Bowls. And I still need to watch The Godfather Part II, which I recorded way back then as well.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I worked in one old tall building with Boost Infinite and my reception wasn't that good. Worked by an exterior wall. We moved recently into a different old(er) tall building, I'm not that far from an exterior wall and my reception is just fine. I don't know if they improved things, because I do...
