EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Well, the difference there was the private equity firm smothered the company in debt to buy Toys R Us. Ergen smothered Dish with debt to try and save it.

    Auto Racing 2024

It has been sprinkling all week in Speedway, Indiana. So limited running at times. Kyle Larson is busy trying to prove he is a great race car driver that chooses to waste his talents in NASCAR. Larson has put up pretty good speeds. Looking better than Johnson. Penske cars are rising towards...

That is at least a start.

I sub'd to Motortrend last year to see LeMans and they had an absurd number of in car cameras.

    Its TEAM SUMMIT week!

It'd let people know these things exist. If I didn't have Dish and post here, I almost certainly wouldn't know about Boost Infinite.

    Auto Racing 2024

Seems risky. Don't want to spend $60ish and wait two months to see if it works. Sadly, I don't even know if B/R is available for Max subs through June. I really want to catch LeMans.

I was expecting Boost to bundle with Sling. I have no idea why they haven't paired the brands together.

According to this, it seems Max has the streaming rights. I'm assuming WBD is Warner Bros / Discovery. There is a WEC streaming site online, but that appears to the UK and France.

Mid-Ohio to Debut Hybrid Indycar This should be interesting. I'll have a front-row... well, back of the hill not quite by the Essess, but before that where the speed and visibility is better... seat for the debut. I think it is kind of nuts to switch the equipment mid-season.

    NFL 2024-2025 Season

You know, Xmas for me is a very trying time, emotionally and work wise. The last thing I want to do is sit down after I've finished all of the work, and watch 20 minutes of football actions stuffed into 3 hours of talk and commercials.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

It doesn't need to be evil corp raises prices. It can be as simple as Amazon is spending a fortune to broadcast one stupid NFL game a week! I don't want my rates increasing for that. But we are, oddly enough, going back to bundling already, but it is a bit worse as it is more fragmented...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I rarely saw people leaving here because of customer service. Generally the angriest people were complaining about not getting a sweetheart deal. And if anything, Dish's chat team, both here and online was awesome!

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

On the other hand, lots of people here were churning for whatever 2 year deal they could get their hands on. It is hard to fight for customers to stay when they have no intention of staying at all. - DVR killed ad rates - Newer generation has weened away from Cable/Sat packages altogether -...

Back to the bundle in just 10 years! Funny, I want access to the WEC events on Max, but don't want to pay for the other stuff. We'll be back to square 1 in about two years, just without the expensive equipment in the home, and everyone will be whining about how they want a la carte back.

I read online that they are introducing a new book, Dish Network the Novel. Chapter 11 is supposed to be real interesting.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

What? Dish's problems aren't customer service. I'm still with Dish because they have allowed for cutting the costs without compromising all too much. Dish's problem is what everyone else is dealing with Cable/Sat wise and Charlie seeing the writing on the wall and loading up the company with a...

Saw this at the BBC. An interesting article on medical safety development in F1 as well as the relationship between the guy who made that happen and one of the greatest racers ever, Aryton Senna. https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/c1ejpl7k2lqo

    Auto Racing 2024

Palou takes the Indy Grand Prix. Competition up front wasn't all too competitive. Power' pit crew got him in front of Lungaard for second. Colton Herta proved resolve, finiahing in the top 10 after starting 24th. Only one yellow in the entire race, so the action was nonstop, and pitting gimmicks...

It is an incredible rating for race car driving for an F1 race of little consequence. Daytona and Indy beat it, but that is probably it.

I've never heard a vegetarian say that. I did try to return a veggie burger at the Burger Priest in Ontario because it was too good to be a veggie burger, but it was.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I think the no revenue from this investment could be a bigger issue. I mean, yeah, the debt is bad, but if you have revenue, you generally get more options for rolling the debt. Dish's SEC filing stopped just short of saying they were going to need to talk to "Tony at the corner" about a loan...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Of course, if Dish isn't going to make money with their 5G system, it doesn't matter if they've deployed their service to 105% of the US population. Admittedly, I just made this one up. :D
