So I use apple tv 4k for all of my tvs, but I have some google tv devices for a variety of reasons. My Chromecast with google tvs are getting pretty old, and my shield tv is clunky to move around when I need it, so I decided to try one of the new Onn 4k pro devices that was just released...

While I don't need more power than my latest mini provides (for what I use it for), I would have welcomed the m series chip in it as an update. That and face id Maybe in a few years.

Yeah, the original guide layout was my only real gripe, but even that wasnt a big deal to me personally. Otherwise, it worked and worked well. Perhaps I am remembering it through rose colored glasses looking back, as I know YTTV has added features that have surpassed the others in many ways.

I did as well. For price, sure, but also the writing was already on the wall that Sony was gonna pull the plug, so it was find the next best thing. Pleased with YTTV when I have it, but I still preferred Vue.

To this day, I still think it was the best overall Live TV streaming service, and as you said, I said as well, the naming was a misstep. Sony Vue would have been less confusing to the average joe. Tying it to the playstation name made many (most) non gamers ignore it completely.

Admittedly, I do not watch much tv on it, and I only keep YTTV about three months out of the year, but when I do have it, what I watch is pretty clear.

I doubt they lose many, as I would wager most, although certainly not all, get prime for shipping rather than the video service.

What is your current monthly bill? The ETF may be comparable and then you dont have to pay to pause, and then still pay to cancel.

The latest version of smartcast (which I think they actually renamed), which not all tvs have yet, is actually a VAST improvement. Now, any improvement would have been big, but it is almost like a completely new OS. Very fluid and easy to navigate...

I read it was based on some performance clause that triggered them getting the opportunity for a playoff game. Seems this has been a growing hit for Amazon. Shocking few.

This is why I, and many others have long recommended NOT using the built in streaming on the tv.

Im not surprised that each of those will be going streaming. I am surprised they will all be going streaming TOGETHER. Thats pretty big news indeed.

That is how I look at it. I use it for shipping so much that the other perks are secondary.

I think that is or was a concern with most that left. However within a matter of a few days it became a non issue for me at least. I just set up the channels I flip to most at the top of the guide , and also it is very good at giving you channels that you will likely watch in a tab style on...

I have only used it for a few days on a cruise, but that was not my experience at all. Id have to look back at my speedtest screenshots, but it was pretty impressive. Not Fiber of course, but pretty decent.

It’s been since I installed it that I looked at it via a browser (and it wasn’t required to then), so I honestly can not answer with any certainty. I’d want to say yes. I’ll try to check.
