He did sell the Littleton campus to a holding company he controls and is leasing it back to Dish. 🤔

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

That's not why, venture capitalists came in and sold all their assets off to a holding company they controlled and leased it back to Red Lobster. If they go bankrupt they don't care, they still hold all the assets.

    Signal Protector

Depends on the day, but overall I'd say it's slow. The guide can sometimes take a second or two to come up, but the DVR functions work great. It's fine overall, I don't have any problems with it. Apparently there are two different versions of Wallys and one has a faster processor.

    Signal Protector

That's why I have the Wally, it's a poor man's Hopper! Does all the same stuff. 4 tuners are enough, I can barely find one thing to watch at a time let alone 16!

I wonder if this will come to the Wally, not that it matters I rarely ever lose signal.

    New Install, new equipment?

The problem with a Direct and Dish merger is the equipment is completely incompatible so all subscribers of one service will need to be transitioned over to the other.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I'm not saying it's a viable business long term, but I think it has a few more years left in it. I'm 50/50 on if they're still around at the end of the decade...but I'm confident they'll be around the next 2-3 years.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

If there's cashflow, someone will step in. Maybe Eddie Lampert is looking for another business to finish running into the ground?

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Well, there wasn't much to restart! Dish is still viable, I'm confident it'll keep operating under different ownership or a restructuring for a few more years.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I knew they were selling the headquarters, didn't realize it was to a company Charlie controls. 🤔 https://www.9news.com/article/money/business/dish-wireless-littleton-colorado-headquarters-sold/73-acc579bd-76bf-4522-8719-06297a6a355d

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Dish Network is not going away anytime soon, it still is a viable business on it's own. Some capital venture company might end up with it, but it won't just close up shop. Heck, someone even tried to restart Orby.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Totally agree, it got out of hand with the consolidation of only a few companies owning all the channels and then adding in multiple channels of the same thing. Do we really need 4 ESPNs, 3 FXs, 4 MTVs all showing the same crap programing that they force the providers to buy and stick in their...

I'd think a large pool of Dish customers are older and don't know how to stream or pay bills online.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Really the only reason I still have Dish. I work from home and the TV is on cable news all day in the background on mute unless something earth shattering happens. Have a Wally with OTA adapter so I pay zero fees and nothing for locals, which is the only reason it makes sense to keep it.
