    KASN Now on KLRT Transmitter

Rabbitears.info shows KASN is already on RF 34 as per their assigned repack frequency. So I guess this is an extra channel being used to increase their coverage further to the north (some 20-25 miles). KASN transmitter is near Pine Bluff some 20-25 miles south of Little Rock.

    KASN Now on KLRT Transmitter

In Little Rock, AR, KASN-HD (CW Arkansas Ch 38) is being transmitted on RF 30 on 16-3 along with KLRT-HD (16-1) and Escape (16-2). KASN (16-3) is 1080i DD 5.1 at about 6.5 Mb/s. Any idea as to why? They are to move to RF 34 in the repack. Can't get RF 34 here so I don't know if they have...

Found this about KMYA-LP: KMYA-DT, Camden, AR; KMYA-LP, Sheridan, AR. Seems to indicate that KMYA-LP has changed hands. KMYA-DT - Wikipedia indicates that the above mentioned I Square Media used to own KMYA-DT (of Camden) which had an agreement with KLRA-CD (RF 20 - Pinnacle Media) to...

49.1 (RF 20) METV Replaced by QVC (Ugh!) in Little Rock, AR

It WAS still available, as I tried to indicate here: Rabbitears has RF 47 listed as KMYA-LP. I don't live in town and only have 2 edge reception of the LR DMA so can't answer that definitively. Apparently, KMYA-LP (RF 47) was off air until recently. I was the one who reported it was in operation...

49.1 (RF 20) METV Replaced by QVC (Ugh!) in Little Rock, AR

RF 20 in LIttle Rock DMA has dropped METV (RF 20.2 as 49-1) and replaced it with QVC (RF 20.2 as 20-2). Sad day. RF 20 is labeled "UNIV/METV" on Rabbitears.info so I guess that also needs changing now. METV was still available in Little Rock DMA on RF 47 (as 49-1) as well as COZI TV (49-2) the...

What does red box with X in it mean on Rabbitears list?

Yeah, it (RF 18 KTWN-LD) was transmitting nothing for quite a while a couple (?) years back. I have an AD 91XG antenna and KTWN-LD is only about 5 miles from me and I used to get it even when not pointed at it. I pointed at it today and there was no hint of signal on RF 18. If you mark it as off...

What does red box with X in it mean on Rabbitears list?

Yeah, I figured that out, hence the reply to myself. When you mouse-over the thing it says "Station is off air." Big Dah! on my part. :coco

What does red box with X in it mean on Rabbitears list?

18 18 KTWN-LD has been off air for years now and it does not have the red button with X in it so I was a little confused.

OK. It appears that means the station is off the air but it really isn't since I am getting it now. All 4 channels as listed are there.

49 47 KMYA-LP SHERIDAN AR What does that X in the red button next to a station's call sign mean? I just recently started receiving these channels. Don't know if it is a fluke or if something substantial has changed. Also, I don't see this station on the repack list/tool. Looks like it should...

    Incentive Auction Discussion

Actually, all else being equal, the higher frequencies (UHF) do not propagate as well as the lower (VHF) frequencies. However, given less power for the VHF signals than UHF signals (FCC limits output power of transmitters), you may indeed find that a particular UHF signal may reach further. DRCars

I hope this does not kill what possible subchannels I could get in the future.

3 mb/s DSL is not that terrible to watch. With the h.264 codec that is used that is about like 6 mb/s MPEG2 (ATSC). Most sub-channels around here are 3 or less. Although, METV is running 4.5 mb/s. Even at 1.5 mb/s with h.264 that would be as good as most sub-channels around here (which ain't...

    Comet TV

Careful what you wish for. You might wind up with a stretched picture with short dumpy people. The only ways to turn the 4:3 stuff into 16:9 is to either crop top and bottom or do the horizontal stretch. Most TVs can stretch a 4:3 image to 16:9 but can not unstretch it. That's why I prefer them...

In support of the Homeworx HW-150PVR

I tried one. It was virtually unusable here as a PVR. The slightest hiccup in signal and the playback of the recording would stop. Perhaps in areas where the TV signals are much stronger this would be less of a problem. I tried probably 5-6 30 min.-60 min. recordings and never was able to get...
