I'm sure this is all very helpful to the OP. :)

Why is DVR not free? Is there a better deal?

The 622 can be put in single mode which allows for dual (actually triple) recording, PIP, etc. Dish is allowing customers to use the box to support two rooms so that it is cheaper and allows you to share recordings. However, you can still use it as a standard dual tuner DVR.

Thinking of switching from Dish to Direct

It's possible you may get another FSN channel (although I doubt it) but it is your MLB market that determines what games you see, not what channel you get.

I think you need to adjust your set.. or your eyes :)

    New to D*

They want you to subscribe to NHL Center Ice. Switching providers won't get you any more hockey.

Direct TV fails to provide HD " A TECHNOLOGY FAILURE"

I would love to compare my 622 to D*'s MPEG4 DVR once it comes out. Unfortunately, that's not an option right now. What I can tell you is that the 622 is light years ahead of the HR10-250.

Thinking of switching to E* Help!

I was in the same posotion as you and ended up making the switch. I have no regets and am enjoying the better and higher picture quality programming. The vip622 is a great DVR with much more features than the HR10-250.

    The TITANIUM™ Package

If someone is willing tp pay $10K upfront for programming, why would they turn ANYONE down for that package? The hearts thing seems odd.

    future HD channels

I agree. If you are someone who only watches HD and had Voom at one point, you will be dissapointed in D*. The channels that they do have are extremely soft.

    Someone Should Tell DirecTv...

That something is only the HD LIL channels. They have already said they have no more capacity to do any national HD channels until 2007. They already have to turn off all the PPV and other channels to give us HD-LITE NFL ST. I gave up on D* two weeks ago and am back to being amazed when I...

"Moving" So My Local HD Sports Are Not Blacked Out

I live in Denver myself and actually plan on "moving" to the mountains. That way I can still get the Denver locals but also the LA HD channels.

"Moving" So My Local HD Sports Are Not Blacked Out

How did you guys find an address to "move" to? I want to do the same thing.

Can two rooms be in two different markets?

I thought that when you "move", you must unplug your phone line so that it doesn't call DTV form then on. Otherwise, the call with show up as your "old" phone number and you will have a problem.

    Help with Switch

It's one of the new Phase III dishes with 4 outputs, so I guess another line is my only choice. I live in a condo and each room has two coax lines running to a central box. When Dish network did the orginal install, they drilled a hole to put two lines from my balcony into my second bedroom...

    Help with Switch

I have sold my dish equipment and installed DirecTV. I currently only have my HD DirecTivo box hooked up. However, I would like to hook up another receiver (non-DVR) if possible. The trick is that I can only have 2 lines going into my condo (long story) and both are going directly into the HD...
