    What Snow?

You must be south of me? This is unusually warm for us in the northern plains.

    What Snow?

We're suppose to get in the low 60s today and 70s tomorrow followed by a couple more 60s before the next cold front. Still no snow in the 7 day forecast.

    What Snow?

Only a dusting of snow here so far this season. It's not looking good for snow over the next couple of weeks.

FCC Votes to Clear at Least 100MHz of Upper C-Band Spectrum

It sucks to have to throw away my C band equipment but what is one to do? As for IPTV streaming, I currently have a 500 Mb connection but 1 Gb is available if needed and my router is capable of 1Gb. I think there are newer routers available that will do more than 2 Gb. So far 500 Mb is good for...

I use to be a Star Trek fan but I can't stomach the more recent series and movies.

looks like GT Media has left the satellite receiver business

Even after upgrading my LNBFs, I still have a lot of interference from 5G. I'm not going spend any more money on C-band.

looks like GT Media has left the satellite receiver business

Not many people here in the U.S. are going to buy new receivers because of 5G. I haven't been watching much C-band and I'll probably take my dishes down this summer. If there were enough services on Ku I'd put my Ku antenna back up.

    Getting into HAM in 2024?

HF setups definitely are expensive. Just a decent HF transceiver will set you back $1500. Then a power supply, tower, HF antenna, concrete, cabling, maybe guy wires, VHF/UHF antennas, etc could get you to $3000+. C-band satellite isn't all that cheap either.

    Getting into HAM in 2024?

Welcome to the "club". We don't have a morse code requirement in the U.S. anymore. I didn't get all that proficient with it but I did get to 15 WPM but then they dropped the requirement which made it easy for me to get the Extra class license. I have had a radiotelephone license since the early...

Deactivated radios are now receiving free preview 11/20 to 12/01.

I replaced my OEM radio that had an SXM radio built in. I kept SXM for streaming over BT to my car stereo. That has worked out fairly well but I might drop SXM because it seems that the same music is played every time I start the stream.

I know this will ruffle some feathers but,,,,

Normally, I go to YT to find info on how to repair stuff. But it's always entertaining to look at the red pill stuff. Sometimes I'll watch a movie but YT seems to censor some content in the movie.

    5g interference

    None that I know of.

    Android streaming box

My IoT devices on on a different subnet just like my guests are. Takes a bit of effort to setup but doable.

    Android streaming box

I have a couple of T95 boxes but don't use them anymore. I'm using a Nvidia Shield TV box now. I suppose that doesn't have this malware issue but you never know.

    5g interference

15.1 dB with occasional drops to 0 and back to 15.1 dB I tried higher freq transponders on this sat with same results. I have this issue on other sats (99, 101, 103) also. Don't know if it's worth the expense to change to a LNB/servo or dual output LNB. I have 2 C-band antennas exhibiting this...

    5g interference

I guess the C140 was a waste of money. Looks like I won't be watching much C-band anymore.

    Windows 10/11 Download

They need to find a way to speed up downloads for updates like this. It has been 15 minutes and only 5% has downloaded.

    5g interference

Even though it's 15 degrees F outside, I just installed the C140 in my dish. So far so good but I'll need to test this more. UPDATE: It did NOT fix the 5G interference problem.

    Still Fighting Intermittent Interference

Many years ago, someone sold a laser pointer mounted in the center of a plastic cup that would fit inside of the mouth of the scaler to align the feed to the center of the dish. I don't know if anyone makes that anymore.

Any '25 Black Friday Peacock Deals?

Not much new content worth watching. I'm watching 30+ year old content. If the stream isn't free I don't watch even though I can get military and/or senior discounts.

Future of C-band Radio Content Distribution

I ordered a C140. I hope it clears up the 5G interference that I'm currently experiencing. Hopefully I'll get a couple of years use out of it.

how to change file group association

I record to that directory but I can't delete the files via my ftp client. I can delete files on the other receiver (another osmio4k) but it has /media/usb - its group association is disk. I can log in to the problematic receiver and delete the files that way.
