    Check signals fixes signals - please explain again!

    Why would looking at signal strength "fix" reception (no check switch run)?

    Was trying to look at something on Encore channels on Friday night - all of the SD were unwatchable but the HD versions were great (different satellites?). Went to the setup screen to check the satellite signals - 119 was up around 75, 110 was fluctuating between 50 and 60, and 129 was going...

    One channel bad, other good - same satellite.

    I get my locals from 129 (SD locals). Sunday night, one local was pixellated, and the others were fine. Could that be due to different transponders? I typically lose 129 if there is any weather at all, but usually it is all or nothing.

    Why so many east coast locals on 129?

    I know it has loads of spotbeams, and is nice and new and all, but it is sooo hard to get LOS.... I am getting a whopping 30 to 35 on a clear day - I hate to see what it will be today in the rain, and later when the leaves all come in....
