mountnbykr, i believe you want it in zoom mode. it will just zoom in very slightly, enough to cut off the border of the screen (and the offending lines). i usually keep my sharp in dot by dot mode though, unless the bars really annoy me. see these links for more info on the "black lines"...

(since no one else has replied...) the problem you describe will happen with some SD channels. some HD channels (some NBC shows do) have solid white lines around the top and left outer edges also. has something to do with overscan or something like that (i forget all the technical info about it...

you will need to get another 2 way splitter(combiner) to combine the "wire from street" with the UHF/VHF out of the STVC. then run that combined wire into the intput of the SV-3G.

here is my guess... on the STVC switch, the line labed "in/out" goes to the sat. reciever. then on the back of the sat. receiver, the TV2 output is ran back through this same line to the STVC. so the line labeled VHF/UHF goes to your kids bedroom. on the SV-3G switch, the "cable from house"...

are you still getting regular cable ("cable from street")? or did you have your cable shut off and are only using satellite? it might also help if you re-labeled the cables that say "cable from house" and tell where they go to exactly.

the OTA coax connection is seperate from the home distribution coax connection. you are not transmitting "through the air" when using the home distribution line afaik.

please clarify... if you run a coax line from the 'home distribution' connector to a TV somewhere else in the house, how are you broadcasting to the neighborhood exactly?
