    Yeah i use it quite a bit at night to go to sleep or relax too, i listen to Ethel and Lucy, wish they would pick up the comedy stations forgot their names i liked to listen to em i gotta hook my computer back up to surround sound to get them sometime.

    Direct is so much better than cable you really don't have anything to worry about.

    Basic HD Questions

    You might want to check if you can zoom in on the image with aspect settings on your tv, i don't know if it would be distorted or anything. This i only recommend if the program is widescreen, Top and bottom black bars and sides.

    Anyone have a issue where your box said a program was blacked out when it was not. Well i had a problem where i tried to put it on HDnet for nothing but trialers and it said it was blacked out weirdest error ive seen.

    The channels that are mpeg2 are in the 70s i believe so they are channels like ESPN,ESPN2,Universal HD(I Think), Hdnet and HDNet Movies.

    Roof Mount?

    Dish network back a few years ago installed a dish and you could wobble it really bad because they just put it through the plywood, which is very thin. Directv guy installed it in a stud and that thing is super secure it depends on the installer.

    If HD is a priority to you id stick with Direct because they offer the most hd channels. If its not id go with Dish because that sounds like a great deal.
