GEOSATpro Multiple Recordings Fail maincode 2013-2-18

My error - damaged and potentially intermittent cable. Or at least a replacement cable has shown good results in a brief series of tests.

GEOSATpro Multiple Recordings Fail maincode 2013-2-18

As the unit worked as expected after the upgrade I thought I must have later inadvertently restored from an incorrect USB key with old files when modifying data externally. Yesterday I ran the processes, (downloaded from satellite, new scan, no external modifications, local time set, GMT off)...

GEOSATpro Multiple Recordings Fail maincode 2013-2-18

Thanks Larry1, I will give it a go. Yesterday SES 2 11808 tp 5 (LPB HD) 8:00PM 3 hours 11:55PM 1.5 hours - dependably repeatable Without an audit trail I can't be certain but tend to do such things as stipulated. On the other hand I will redo first chance. Scanned new as there are only a...

GEOSATpro Multiple Recordings Fail maincode 2013-2-18

There is no reoccurring timer or reference to one, just three timers on different transponders on a single satellite on a single day. GMT was off and remains off. Machines have no intelligence to be smarter than but properly implemented software design on the right equipment can respond...

GEOSATpro Multiple Recordings Fail maincode 2013-2-18

I probably forgot to record for 59 minutes rather than 60 although I thought there was an hour between recordings two and three. I'll try again at 59. Thanks folks.

GEOSATpro Multiple Recordings Fail maincode 2013-2-18

I don't do a lot of recording so I don't know if this is new or not but... when two or three recordings are set on a single satellite for a single day it records the first one properly but removes the others without recording. There is plenty of space on the NTFS drive and it records correctly...

GEOSATpro Used microhd for $50 on CL.. why so cheap?

There are any number of reasons traceability is not desirable and a cash sale on the street is good for that.

GEOSATpro Closed Caption on Timed Recording

That's what I thought as well but I tried it on a recording that usually has CC and it wasn't available. Maybe I made an error, I couldn't actually tell as I have nothing to compare. I will try it again.

GEOSATpro Closed Caption on Timed Recording

Is there a way to capture closed caption on a recording started by a timer? Can it record as it does when started manually with CC already set?

    Let's talk about Clones

And the electronics industry might still be American-based allowing more people better incomes, a chance to buy more expensive computers and maybe one day a home of their own. In our race to get cheap stuff we sent jobs off-shore, left many folks believing wages were damaged irreparably and the...

    Let's talk about Clones

"In some countries, prices for AKs are very low; in Somalia, Rwanda, Mozambique, Congo and Tanzania prices are between $30 and $125 per weapon, and prices have fallen in the last few decades due to mass counterfeiting." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-47

    Let's talk about Clones

Cloners won't clone if buyers don't buy their goods regardless of turnaround time. The Kalashnikov (AK-47) first appeared in 1947 and is still a favorite of counterfeiters around the world due to demand. On the other hand it hasn't done much to destroy the market for military equipment so maybe...

    Let's talk about Clones

Being something new pretty much ensures it is not a genuine clone. Technical advancement as most advancement is a combination of old and new. Only very expensive lawyers seem able to discern the correct amount of new to qualify as next generation or breakthrough rather than intellectual...

    Let's talk about Clones

Buying technology by price alone rather than paying for the expertise, talent, effort and knowledge of an original designer is probably the best way to ensure a technology without a future. Without a return on investment designers can't produce and clone resellers (China doesn't sell us anything...

Is PRESS TV GONE ON 97w??? Can someone please check because I dont get it anymore..

Ken is an old-fashion-stir-the-pot kind of guy good for keeping folks in the fray and in the game...or at least in the cheap seats. I don't think he attracts much of a crowd on Wall Street. Further reading on the situation indicates yet another proud moment in 'he started it' international...

Is PRESS TV GONE ON 97w??? Can someone please check because I dont get it anymore..

What am I missing? Press TV is coming in loud and clear right now on 12029. It's not my go-to station but I watched Ken Livingstone a few days ago and it seems to be there every time I look for it.

GEOSATpro Starting at a specific time in a long recording

The thirty minute skip interval is just the ticket, particularly in conjunction with the scan forward/reverse. I simply didn't notice there was a 30 minute as well as a 30 second setting. Thanks

GEOSATpro Starting at a specific time in a long recording

Yes, I meant to say starting playback at a specific time. My wife and I tend to watch different parts of a recording in fits and starts at separate times. I am interested in the last hour of the recording which is of no interest to her. We are both interested in the second hour so it is not...

GEOSATpro Starting at a specific time in a long recording

I am probably missing something obvious but how is a specific start time set in a long recording? If a recording is six hours, how can it be started at the five hour mark?

GEOSATpro Logo File Types and MediaBox Motor Types

Received a microHD yesterday - nice box. Very refreshing to have a unit with a comprehensive manual designed for my purposes. No more trying to divine answers to technical questions from arcane websites. Can the logos use other file types than m2v? I could try a few but thought I would ask...

    satelliteav.com web problem

The phone number was on Brian's reply (as well, I eventually noticed, transiently on the top of most pages) so I called and ordered directly. I'll keep RPS in mind, thanks.

    satelliteav.com web problem

OK, that worked. It is not a matter of putting down the keyboard, it is a matter of an agreement to not use the business paid phone (the only phone) in our house for private calls during business hours. When I make a commitment I like to honor it but it was brief and not habitual and as it was...

    satelliteav.com web problem

When I click on the links for satelliteav.com I get a message from zoneedit rather than the SatelliteAV site. The other day I tried to order a microHD on line (from Canada) and had a message to call for quote. Unfortunately I have been unable to call at the appropriate times. I tried emailing...

CBC Anik F1R at 107.3°W Scrambled?

There is no mention of intellectual property rights in these articles, it's all just money and the licensing requirement for all BDUs to distribute CBC signal: "Distributors are required to distribute CBC signals on a priority basis and Canadians already pay for the distribution of CBC...

CBC Anik F1R at 107.3°W Scrambled?

With the ever so subtle difference we pay a premium (by way of paying for encryption) to ensure we can't get the tax provided service. Then there is also the matter that the government isn't charging or benefiting from the collected fees; that goes entirely to large corporations. On the other...
