    I've had the same issue with a new unit and between the $40 activation and the cost of an external hard drive, I think I will opt to erase the old programs. Buying previously viewed movies or programs would be cheaper in the long run. Let us know if they let you waive the activation fee.

    Compatible EHD with Dishnet DVR

    I am considering purchasing an external hard drive for my dishnet DVR and wanted to know which models are compatible with it? The info on the Dishnet website seems pretty sketchy. If they were smart, they would sell their own EHD.
