Please help me choose an antenna. Maps included.

Antennas Direct on the web...lots of antennas to choose from in different range categories. And forget about using the diplexers....have the cables run independently.....this will increase signal strength to your OTA antenna.

    Terrible SD picture quality

I don't know the type of TV you own, but try this: Lock in 1080i at the Output Resolution screen; press OK.....if the bottom left corner says "Press OK to continue in 1080i" you're at the right step. Remain at that screen. Open the red button door, push the red button until all four line...

Diplexor must be installed because of powered antenna? (Depends on antenna model)

I stand corrected; You MUST use Two diplexers are None. My installer used both; the diplexorS and the power inserter. When I ask him to remove the diplexerS and run each cable separately, OTA signal shot up, channels stablized and PQ increased.

Diplexor must be installed because of powered antenna? (Depends on antenna model)

Those are both diplexers; you'll only need one. How do you get power to your OTA amplifer? I'm only using the power inserter to power up the amplifier in my OTA antenna. No diplexer; the cables are connected directly to the Sat connection from the Voom dish; and from the OTA, to the inserter...

    Diplexer vs Power Inserter

Folks, After reading this thread, some confusion exists. The Diplexer is the small box attached to the back of the STB. The Diplexer unify the two coaxial cables from the Voom dish and the OTA antenna to one STB connection. The Voom dish is powered by the STB. The Power Inserter is the...

Diplexor must be installed because of powered antenna? (Depends on antenna model)

I must disagree. When the Installer installed my system...he used the diplexor (which is the small box attached to the back if the STB) I received no OTA channels. One day while channel surfing I got a glimpse of NBC, which led me to believe OTA is possible. I've worked in the anntena field...

Largest OTA Antenna, still no locals

There's no such OTA antenna with a range of 200 miles; after 70 miles, line of sight is no longer possible. Trash the diplexor, run the cables to each connection separately to the STB. Doing this increases signal strength. Try purchasing your own OTA antenna....I've had nothing but success...

What could cause this? ota cbs works on one receiver, not another

Clarification: The Diplexor is the coaxial connection on the back of the STB. where both antenna cable use one connection. The small gold-colored connection with the AC plug is for your OTA antenna amplifier. By disconnecting the diplexor and running each cable independently to its proper...

To SET 1080i in NATIVE RESOLUTION WITHOUT the SD Stretch...

This is all about picture quality........and getting the most out of your display and the Voom STB......I own a 4:3 set....if I set 1080i with the remote control my SD will be stretched even in pillar box format because the STB thinks all channels are HD. All channels have top and bottom bars...

Possible STB OTA problem with 6.2 ????

If you have a diplexor get rid of it....signal strength is stronger when both antennas run on it own coaxial cable. Try purchasing your own OTA antenna......Antenna Direct DB8 did it for me....I'm 62 miles away from the LA tower between mountain ranges, houses, trees, etc. 90+ signal.

To SET 1080i in NATIVE RESOLUTION WITHOUT the SD Stretch...

Shelly's Answer......... The Voom exclusive are in 1080i, what I'm saying is the STB by some flaw reverts back to 720p when changing channels when Native mode is set using the STB red manual button only. Using the menu's red colored 1080i button with the remote locks 1080i but stretches the...

To SET 1080i in NATIVE RESOLUTION WITHOUT the SD Stretch...

Using Native Resolution with the red STB button only, reverts back to 720p on HD channels when switching channels....using the 1080i red button in the Installer Menu Locks ALL channels in the 1080i resolution, so your SD channels are Stretched......These steps allow you to use Native resolution...
