Actually from what i have read, for them to work effectively they need a properly grounded system i believe, cannot remember where i read that, but somewhere.
Big fan of FIOS! Seen both and worked with both, both have their advantages and downfalls, but i would say i personally would go with FIOS, don't know how deep i should go with reason since this is a satellite forum :-).
yea if its the spaceway HN9000 system, you will definitely want an installer to install it, or buy a DAPT and do a bit of research. Good luck if you do it yourself.
depending on the layout of the house and yard a pole mount can be the way to go. The installer probaly did the right thing in fear of a charge back or a 9700(go back). I would have made the same decision based on what i have read.
I havnt yet got into FTA myself, but heard from a buddy that the rumor is that signals will be have a new encryption that will prevent FTA? True or not??
I know that its not possible to have coax go thru traditional surge protectors, so I picked up some surgenders directly from surgeender.com site and found they have no negative effect on my Directv system that I have experienced. Any techies out there have an opinion on this?
