Heard from someone that signals will be encrypted?

I havnt yet got into FTA myself, but heard from a buddy that the rumor is that signals will be have a new encryption that will prevent FTA? True or not??

FTA means NOT encrypted.
So, UNencrypted channels can't have a 'new' encryption...

Free to Air is not encrypted.

Anything that is encrypted and someone uses a modified free to air box to receive them is illegal and is stealing.

Pay satellite TV signals now have new encryption. This, hopefully, will prevent signal theft. (which is stealing and not true FTA)
TRUE FTA signals are unencrypted, and will continue to be received by legal FTA systems just like before.
