NHL Asks Fans To Complain to DirecTV

Whatever the disagreement is between Directv and Versus, which is obviously money, I don't think Versus has much to help them. They're a first tier network at best. If it weren't for the NHL they wouldn't exist. They need to swallow thier pride and come to terms with Directv. When are companies...

    DirecTV Double-Play - Seems Clunky

I don't disagree, that it's a great concept. I couldn't wait to use it. My only issue is getting the masses to understand what is going on and how to use it. Maybe thetech2009 knows: How difficult is the concept of having constant buffers? Everytime you switch channels, the other buffer is...

    Feature Request

I agree. Where's the love for PIP these days? My old TV has it, and I love it, but none of the televisions I've purchased in the past 3 years have that option. I'm not even sure too many TV manufacturers think to put that option in today's sets. This would be a great feature. Of course it would...

    DirecTV Double-Play - Seems Clunky

My point exactly. You tried it, found no great value in it or didn't want to learn how it works, so you disregarded it. Now introduce this to the millions of users that are not tech savy or somewhat layman to this stuff. It will never get used. Can DirecTV go back to the drawing board on this...

    DirecTV Double-Play - Seems Clunky

What's the value if the buffer gets dumped? So now one channel has recorded data, but the rest don't? All of this seems great in theory, but in use, the average user will not get their minds around this. I wanted to tell a bunch of people about this option, but there's no way they're going to...

    DirecTV Double-Play - Seems Clunky

Is anyone using the DirecTV Double-Play feature? Does it seem clunky to anyone else? I was so excited for this feature, now I'm thinking they missed the mark. Once I start double play, it takes me three or four tries to get it to record the two channels I want to flip between. I'm a software...

    Wall Plates

I would reccommend keystone plates and jacks as well. Alternatively, Channel Plus makes a box with 3 Rj45s and 2 coax. They call them TAP (Total Access Ports). I've used them before. You can get them from a number of place on line and they may save you a few pennies.

Is this the right tool for the job?

This crimper should suffice just fine. Here are a few helpful cable building money savers too. Blackbox.com has 1000' cat5e for $79 w/ free shipping. $109 for cat6. I've never seen a better price for this wire. Monoprice.com is also a great website for cable boots, patch cables and rj45...

Favorite "Show Off" Blu Ray Movie?

Crank is really decent looking in Blu-ray. Casino Royale is also one of the best blu-rays I've seen too.

    DOD

The VOD movies are pretty new too. I think that PPV and VOD are carrying some of the same movies (VOD carries older ones as well). It's just a matter of if you want to wait for the download or wait for the next showing. There are even some of the VOD movies that are instantanly viewable. I would...

    DOD

The D* VOD has a lot of SD content that is free, but very little free HD content. If you subscribe to Smithsonian and some of the movie channels (I think just Showtime) you will get those as well. Otherwise, most of the HD stuff has a charge. Most new movies are available in HD for $4.99. There...
