Not sure if you checked out Sling's site Jim, but the adapter is the Slingbox 700u. It's connected with only a USB cable so, as TheKrell correctly said, it stays completely digital (and HD) the whole way. I'd think it's the better of the two solutions....whenever it's released...

hmm alright, ill try to shield the sensor somehow and test it, but i definitely never had this problem with the 622. though the IR receiver on that seemed exposed and not covered like they are on the 722k.

are you creating a timer in the Guide or a Dish Pass? The HD/SD option only shows up when making a Dish Pass.

thats actually gonna be a nice small feature to have.

if youre having problems, call dish and have them fix it. the dvr is the best in its class, not sure what your issue with it is.
