Please help me understand as all I have read, including Dish's own statement, is the drive has to be 1TB maximum. I have the VIP 211.

And I would mind replacing it....the problem is I have not been able to find a 1TB drive that has an external power supply anywhere. Everyone has gone to 2TB and higher. All of the 1TB drives I find are the portable, USB powered type. The one I'm currently using was fine in it's application...

I can no longer record Dish to my DVD recorder to use as a time shift. I get some DRM message. Does anyone know if the Maggie DVR will record from the Dish? Just trying to avoid the ongoing DVR charge from Dish for using one of their DVRs.

Well, that's close but it doesn't list the 900 series music channels. Plus the 6000 series music channel list is dated. Some of those no longer exist.

I have a VIP 211 that did just exactly the same thing. Every test I did kept coming back to the receiver. I called Dish and they sent me a new one straight away and the problem was cured. Free of any charge I might add. They even paid to send the old one back to them. Nice folks.
