upgrade sd to hd recievers, free?

In the last month I finally upgraded the receiver in one of my rooms from an SD to an HD receiver and I got it for less than $15. Was able to haggle with a CSR and got it for less than it would cost to ship it. It never hurts to ask if that is your best offer.

ESPNU moving to Choice 7/1 & HD coming, ESPN Classic moving to sports pack.

This is great news! Can't wait for the channel to move so I don't have to pony up the extra money for the sports pak (though I still might get it for college football and hoops season). Wish adding HD to the channel would happen a lot sooner but hope it gets added early in the first quarter for...

    Sirius signal down... anybody else?

I've been having trouble listening online for the last couple of days. I've seen more server down or timed out issues that I care to mention and it's starting to tick me off because I use it all the time when I'm at work. Wondering if they putting more resources into their premium online...

Will D* require me to extend my contract?

I currently have two HR receivers in my house (one HD DVR) and yesterday I finally broke down and bought an HDTV for my bedroom. I want to replace the existing non-HD receiver in my bedroom with an HD receiver but don't necessarily want to extend my contract for another two years. I upgraded...

Pissed about the changes? Let your voice be heard!

Is it me, or are most of the people who are upset/disappointed with the changes are those who had XM subscriptions? Just curious, as I've been out of touch for the last week or so and haven't really had a chance to see what the changes are like for myself as a Sirius sub. For me, if I get the...

When will HD recivers become standard?

Great point, Jimbo. Of the 3 tvs in my house, 2 of them are HD. I'm waiting to change that final one, hopefully in the next couple of months. In the meantime, if D* ever does go to mandatory HD receivers for existing customer, I too agree that there shouldn't be a penalty of a new contract...

    HR2x / R22 Receiver Freeze / Reboot Issues (Again)

Yes, I've only had five posts and I've only known about this site for a month but I tend to hold back my thoughts to voice them at the right time -- and this is the right time. I've had more troubles in the last year with not only the CSRs (most of them) but also the technology that D* is trying...

    HR2x / R22 Receiver Freeze / Reboot Issues (Again)

Like most, I'm getting a little sick and tired of this. My HR-20 re-booted at least three times that I know of, and now the resolution on the box is stuck at 480 and I can't get it to change. I'm not about to try and reboot this again myself because I'm in the middle of recording shows at the...

DirecTV HR2x Mass Lockups overnight 10/6

Mine locked up again this morning. Getting sick of this problem. Lost a number of recordings yesterday and I'm guessing today is a crap shoot. Wish D* would send out some sort of communication outlining the issue; if they have I never received anything. The first I heard of it was when I...

    ESPNU HD?

Thanks for the updates. Really appreciate it. Will continue to wait ever so patiently.

    ESPNU HD?

I'm new to this forum but not new to D*. Does anyone have insight on if/when D* will add ESPNU in HD? I know there are other channels that I would love to see added as well in HD but I'm getting spoiled by watching HD events on other channels and would love to see some college football games...

All Recordings Deleted – Is an Update the Reason?

I had this happen to me recently and like you, I thought I had lost all of my recordings. It wouldn't have been the first time as my hard drive got fried about a year ago and lost everything. Perfect timing because I then added the HD receiver. My suggestion would be to go through a reset --...
