from the receiver to the tv? no difference. Not sure what that'd do, though. these 700 (MLBEI) channels are the only ones with problems. Everything else is fine.

receiver: hd-dvr, HR-21(700) I reset it every day - that's the problem. It works after a red-button reset and a card pull. But something happens in the ensuing 24 hours that causes the channels to show nothing but black the next day. Until I do another red-button reset and card pull.

I had a similar problem with my hr-21 last week. It seemed to take a few days for the receiver to parse through the guide data and figure out what it was going to record. Hopefully time solves the problem for you.

Also - I had read on a directv.com forum that if you're connected through the s-video jack that it can sometimes cause this error to happen. I disconnected my s-video and it worked fine the rest of the evening. but I've seen the issue crop up again as recently as last evening around 11pm
