    You either need a new 2" diameter pole or an adapter to step up from the old, smaller pole. The Slimline also uses two small monopoles for stability. That big dish gets pushed around by the wind otherwise.

    Do I need a new dish to get a HR34-700?

    If your HR24 has two coax cables going into it from the dish, then you will need a new dish, or at least a new LNB. If there is only one coax cable going into your HR24 and you can use both tuners (watch one channel while recording another) then you have the SWM LNB that you need.

    You can use a D12 on Swim or non-Swim. I have had both setups.

    All the manufacturers build to the same specs. The only differences are appearance. The first one or two letters on the model number tell you the type of receiver. D = SD receiver R = SD DVR H = HD receiver HR = HD DVR

    Dish treatment.

    I bought it. I don't recommend it. It didn't hurt, but it didn't help, especially in Chicago winters.

    AM21 H25 compatible?

    The H25 does not have a built-in power supply as do most other DirecTV HR receivers. You will need to leave the "wall wart" power supply plugged in as well as the AM21. Don't try to power the two units off of one cord.
