    OTA Antenna question

I have a very nice Channelmaster OTA antenna on my roof and I get about 20+ channels but can not get my local CBS channel even though its not really a weak signal. I have tried everything and it only comes in if the weather is just right. I do have trees in front of it but I get weak obscure...

Genie question- lost features vs DISH DVR

I am seriously considering switching to direct tv from DISH. I was in Sams Club yesterday and they had some good promos (Free NFL package, $300 gift card, $65 locked in for 2 yrs if an ATT subscriber) but was wondering what I will lose with the DVR they will supply. I know I will lose the hopper...

Can somebody set me straight on Blueray upscaling 4k?

So after doing some research on wether I need a new 4k upscaling blueray player for my new 4k TV, Im getting conflicting answers that dont make sense. The general consensus is that if the tv is 4k, you dont want 2 things doing the upscaling or the picture will be worse. So most say not needed...

Is 4k worth it. The difference is about $200

I was reading about the Samsung panel lottery issue where you dont know who the manufacturer is. Does anyone know who makes the ED02 version panel sold by Sams Club? Cant seem to find it anywhere. The model is the Samsung UN55ju640d 4k set. Thanks

Is 4k worth it. The difference is about $200

What is the main benefit of the 120/240 for an additional 300-400? I mean if money was no object then sure. I hear very good reviews for all those I mentioned.

How many Dish channels are 1080P ? NOV 2015

Im sitting 9 feet away so I guess 1080P should be fine. As I understand it, unless you are 2-3 feet away, the naked eye cant see the difference and since I wear glasses, probably so.

Is 4k worth it. The difference is about $200

Im considering the Samsung JS7000 SUHD in 50" ($799) or the Samsung J6300 in 55" or 50" ($699/ $629) (although I hear the 50 has inferior outsourced panels). All are 60 hz 120 motion rate sets .

Is 4k worth it. The difference is about $200

The problem is the refresh rate. The affordable 4ks are 60mz or 120 motion for Samsung. If you want 120 mz or 240 motion rate, you have to pay 500 more. The salesmen told me if I was going to get (afford) a 60 mz then I should go with a 1080p cause it will handle the less pixels better than a...

How many Dish channels are 1080P ? NOV 2015

So than 4k is a total joke if theres not even any 1080p right? I mean like HDTV has been out 10 yrs or so and still no 1080P. Wow, Im shocked! Forget 4k then.

Is 4k worth it. The difference is about $200

Is 4k worth it for $200-$250 more than a 1080P or will it be obsolete? I just dont see this catching on since bandwidth is at a premium but I could be wrong. Thanks much. BP

How many Dish channels are 1080P ? NOV 2015

Anyone know how many 1080p channels are available on Dish? Im in the market for a new TV and trying to decide between 4k and 1080p. My thinking is there is not much content anywhere including OTA of 1080P let alone 4k. I think 4k is 5 yrs away from being mainstream, I mean we cant even get much...

    running network cable outside?

Can flat network cable for streaming (Cat 5?) be run outside? If so since the ends dont come off, I guess you have to drill a pretty big hole to get the end through the wall? Am I missing something here? Thanks

    Channel Master DVR advise?

I do alot of recording and I want the newest technology so because channel master is an offshoot of DISH, Im leaning that way. I am def. considering tablo and simple tv though. I was worried about the pic quality if Tablo and simple stream only without a hard wired connection but the truth is my...

    Channel Master DVR advise?

I see simple.tv and tablo are both streaming devices. Is channel master the only game in town that has a hard wired hookup to the tv? Also simple.tv does not have a wifi option that I see, you have to somehow run an ethernet cable to the tv area. Tablo does have a wifi option. I like the channel...

    Channel Master DVR advise?

Im about ready to cut the cord. Ive been a Satellite customer since Dish first started years ago and have also tried Direct tv but I think the time has come as too many channels never get watched while the price is now ridiculous. So anyways Im planning on OTA (I get about 15-20 good channels)...

    Dish pointing question

I am trying to install a dish (direct tv) at my cottage in the woods. Lots of trees. I had it running 2 yrs ago with a signal 60s-80 ish and it worked most of the time. Now I cant get a signal 2 yrs later. Trees taller? Bad LNB? (do they go bad?) bad aim? Im trying to find out what sat. I'm...

Old time Dishnetwork customer coming back ?

I am thinking about returning back to dishnetwork. I had them for over 11 years before switching to Direct tv the last 3. Cost is the primary reason. Direct tv is way more expensive.
