just hooked up the RCA cables and that makes a difference the picturre is better. Does that mean the HDMI port on the reciever is bad?

going to try and find my extra set of RCA cable and try that the install didn't leave my anything and even charged my $20 for the HDMI cable and dish network says some installers do that and refused to give credit for it.

I did try switching the HDMI ports earlier with no difference and i don't have any component cable but am thinking of going and buying some and checking that thou

don't know if it's SD or HD but I just hooked it up with a coax so I guess it's probably SD

the info shows 16:9 but to give an example i have basic cable with my internet so my internet will be cheaper and I just tryed my cable hooked up to my tv and the cable comes in better than the satellite

there's really no specific channel and we set about 20-25 feet for it i guess

input is set to HDMI 1 I have 2 hdmi hookups

say I put the guide on all sub and channel shows up twice in sd and hd I can select them both and the PQ is the same. I have a 42" Toshiba and the PQ i'm looking for is i'm thinking that the hd channels should come in a better than the sd.

no other cables hooked to the tv and when we select a HD channel is show hd in the upper right side of the menu bar or what ever is's called

The installer must know he done something wrong cause when I finally got dish network to agree to come out here they said he wrote in his report that no one was home when he installed the system . lol

No there's no difference at all in the PQ at any time. When we watch a show that is showing in SD and HD the PQ is the same.

it's hooked up with HDMI and set to 1080i

I have a dish 1000 and a vip722 reciever and my HD channels don't come in any better than the other channels. Any ideas on how to get them in better? Right now the dish is pointing at 129 with a signal of about 43. A tech came out Monday and just looked at my tv screen and said "nothing wrong"...
