I don't think you can get platinum with the Dish America packages. I've tried and the CSR's always tell me its not possible. Also, just be aware of all the "new" HD channels you'll lose.

I just chose "For" the bill and it went to 50/50, so not many "people" voted for it on the site.... who cares what people think, Obama will sign it and that's all I care about.

But if Dish is going to import stations from neighboring DMA's to fill the DMA and the neighboring ones are in HD, wouldn't those imported locals be in HD? For example, I'm in Lafayette, IN, and all the Indy locals are in HD, so I would hope that ABC, NBC and FOX from Indy would at least be in...

I don't think it undermines the local affiliate at all. In Lafayette, IN D* imports the Indy ABC, NBC and FOX stations but supplies the Lafayette CBS. From my understanding Dish can only import networks that aren't in your DMA.

I got the e-mail too, and it was because I had (last year) ONLY the SD channels. The e-mail was promoting the HD channels and you get the discount when you add the HD channels to your SD subscription.

When I moved the Dish installer had to make a temporary mount and just drilled the arm mount into two cinder blocks. It might not be as ugly as a bucket and is a little more stable in my opinion.

Maybe, but for me it's more of a price issue. I don't care if its Chi, NY or ATL, as long as it's cheaper than it is now (and HD).
