    I stumbled on a kind of work around to stream from the hopper, at least on an iPhone. Keep the phone in portrait view, start streaming from the web, then tap the info button, then tap the play button. It will start streaming from the hopper. It works with most of the stream from web channels...

    I found that if I’m watching a streaming channel and reduce the screen size from full screen, there is a button for info. After pressing it, if I press the watch button the DA will then switch over to the hopper.

    Does that allow me to turn off the streaming? On my iPhone, I have the option to filter channels that are streaming, but I’m not seeing a setting to enable/disable. I will check on my fire sticks a bit later tonight.

    This hack (probably ransomware attack) recently happened with Rackspace hosting, and a couple of years ago with a medical company here in San Diego. I wonder if Dish paid for their data back or had a solid restore system? It is times like this when I’m glad I got out of IT.

    Dish anywhere won’t stream in HD

    I had an issue several months ago similar to this. If I rebooted my wireless router (WiFi 6) I would get good quality picture until the next day. A router reboot would correct the issue. After a Hopper update (possibly a Firestick update, as well) the issue resolved itself.

    Other than Formula1, I don’t watch the ESPN anymore. I have Disney+ for kids movies and they rarely watch via Dish. I’m not sure which side I favor, although as a consumer it serves most best to have programming through one avenue. But I don’t want to pay more for that one avenue.

    So in the 10-12 days since reinstalling the H3, it has been working normally. I am not sure if the issue was a poor connection of a cable somewhere, or a glitch that got corrected somewhere along the way? But for the moment, it is working fine. Knock on wood!

    So dish wouldn’t let me deactivate my H3 and activate my HWS. Even though my HWS is connected and receiving signal. Maybe I should just schedule a service call and have the technician bring a new (refurbished) receiver. Just a very frustrating experience.

    Hopper 3 Picture Freeze

    My H3 doesn’t freeze, but goes dark for a second or 2. Do you have a Joey and if so, does the picture freeze? I’m thinking my problem is related to the video processor (something similar) on my H3 as I don’t have the issue on my 4K Joey.
