    I've found silicone loses it's ability to shed/block water after a short time used that way. Pitch pad on the other hand is wonderfull (tar based product). It just has to be used correctly.

    your elevation is too low by 1 to 1 1/2 degree. Typical installer mistake. They went by the "perscribed settings" in the manual by zip code. That does not take the weight of the lnbf/arm sag into consideration.

    Actually as E* is trying to approach 13million by end of this year there are different "deals" going down. Give them a call... explain you can't stand cable any more. You made a mistake... repent... repent... They may set you up as a former customer with "new" customer advantages.

    Test your signal on 119 transponder 11 - assure it is over 80, if not set up a tc or retune. I would speculate the tech moved the dish due to signal block on 119 sat from a tree. It is possible he did not move it enough. E* uses different technology that D* in that we can send two signals...

    1. checkswitch screen 2. set sat to 119 3. set transponder to 19 4. Using remote turn power off 5. Within (if not immediately) 5-10 minutes receiver will turn back on and download new software (if available).

    People generally report negative feedback than positive. It has been my (unpopular) observation that most of the negative feedback results from the customers' failure to understand the product, actually read what they sign or human error. There are of course, exceptions :)
