    grounding rod

My dishs are not connected to the house ground at all. Except for the STB's electrical ground. All dish coax runs to a diseq switch, the into a grounding block which goes to its own independent grounding rod.

    grounding rod

Now you got me wondering about my setup... I have my dishes on their own grounding rod which is not connected to the house ground. Is this a bad idea?

    Can't get 72w - Other suggestions?

I think you mean 120cm. Guess I'm back in the market for another dish. I do know of a couple 4 footers, one that in 95% sure is not in use. If only I could bring myself to stop and visit these strangers LoL. I will look into 30w, I don't think I have LOS there though. I have great LOS from...

    Can't get 72w - Other suggestions?

After my problem setting elevation on my new (used) dish I have a new question. I wanted to get 72w for the nbc mux, Previously I was unable to tune it in with my 75e channel master dishes. I could only ever get a little blip on the signal strength. I recently acquired a 1m Starchoice dish...

is history channel on amc4 ?

I never noticed any change when they switched from AMC4 to SES1. If anything I gained a very slight increase in signal. This is in Kentville, Nova Scotia. The signal for me was never great but at least it didn't get worse :)

    Help setting dish elevation

I guess I shouldn't have mounted it so high.... When it is pointed in the direction of 63w-110w I can not reach the lnb to make those adjustments. Oh well... I should mount it lower anyways. I think I might mount an circular lnb on and try to hit 72.5w. Then I can mark it, swap lnb's...

    Help setting dish elevation

Ok, my offset is 24 degrees, So i need 13 degrees angle. Should be easy enough :) Another question, This is my first time setting up a dish where the lnb is clamped to the dish by the feed neck. Do I put the LNB all the way towards the dish, all the way back away from the dish, or in the middle...

    Help setting dish elevation

I don't think it would fit on the backside between the bolts. Would it work the same way on the front side in between the mounting bolts? Since the elevation I require is 37.5 degrees would I set the angle to 11.5-17 degrees?

    Help setting dish elevation

Hi All, I've got a used winegard ds3101 dish (Starchoice 1m) that the elevation scale is totally wrecked from being adjusted to many times. It doesn't appear to have numbers and the lines are pretty much gone. Can I use a Johnson angle finder to determine elevation? If so, do I attached it in...

What got you interested to purchase your first Free to Air satellite system? I was interested in expanding the very limited channel line-up I get with OTA, FTA seemed like a good choice instead of getting cable. Started with just a starchoice dish pointed at 91w & 101w but after getting a...
