    H365 has arrived

Has anyone figured out a fix for lack of skip forward on a show that is recording? I started a record on my Hopper 3, paused to continue watching on a Joey in my living room, then couldn't skip forward. Each time I tried skip the show would return to the beginning of the record. This has been...

    Dish Loses Fight With SpaceX

I think this was expected but a 4-0 vote by the FCC seals it. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/05/fcc-saves-starlink-from-5g-interference-backing-spacex-in-fight-against-dish/

    Ground Loop Via COAX

Another solution is a humbucker. It's what we used when I worked in broadcast TV. (Not the guitar pick up.) I think ADC still makes one. HUM-1? It has a transformer in the ground path to effectively isolate the hum. It uses a BNC connector so you'd need BNC to F adaptors. Maybe someone makes a...

Question about comms between satellite and a rooftop dish antenna?

Is your receiver connected to the internet? Streaming?

    Ground Loop Via COAX

It would make sense that the sub would transmit the hum louder. (60hz) Can you run a temporary cable from the Hopper to the Joey? Just to double check the coax. The other possible solution, albeit not a great one, is lifting the ground on the receiver. I had a Carver receiver years ago that...

    pre wire for future tv

I just connected the Hopper and the Joey via Ethernet to the network switch. I think it creates its own moca path so they don’t interfere with the other computers and Wi-Fi network plugged into the switch. I did have to restart the Joey a couple of times for it to connect to the Hopper but after...

    pre wire for future tv

I've had a wireless Joey on my deck for three years and got tired of the dropouts (the access point was 10 feet away on the other side of the wall) so I ran RG 6 and Cat 6 to the deck. I use the Cat 6 to feed the Joey even though Dish doesn't support it. It works great and the dropouts have...

    New Dish Cell Phone

The current iPhone 13 already supports the frequencies Dish will operate on. Specifically n29 (700mhz), n66 (AWS3) and n71 (600mhz) bands I suspect the newest Samsung does as well.

    New Dish Cell Phone

Read this article this morning. https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/dish-network-celero-5g-smartphone-hands-on-review/ My question is, will Dish use its new 5G network to create a Home Internet service (like Verizon and AT&T) for the specific purpose of streaming Sling or some other...

Tegna Dispute - how much longer?!

Tegna's CEO Dave Lougee is trying to sell the company. If he can get an outrageous contract from Dish he can justify a higher sales price which puts $$$ in shareholders pockets.

    No CFP in 4K?

Just an FYI. There are very few fully 4K production trucks out there. Most have a few cameras and a playback or two in full 4K but the video switchers up until recently couldn't broadcast a full 4K show. (Not enough bandwidth) Here's a recent article on one of the first full 4K trucks...

    ATSC 3.0 Discussion

I agree there are issues with the streaming services now but think about 5 years down the road when the technology catches up with the vision. In addition the networks won’t be hamstrung by the FCC.

    ATSC 3.0 Discussion

The one point everyone seems to be missing in the free OTA discussion is the move by the networks to streaming services. There is no mandate that the major networks provide programming to local broadcasters for OTA. As we’ve seen CBS, NBC and ABC via Disney+ have the ability to bypass the...

TEGNA Blacks Out DISH Customers in 38 Markets

NBC has nothing to do with this. Tegna owns multiple stations that are affiliated with all three networks. ABC, NBC, CBS,and FOX. It's well know that these large media corporations have changed their business model to try and grow their revenue through upped carriage fees instead of creating...

    Hopper + USB Hub

I have the Sling adapter plus a HDD plugged into the two USB ports on my Hopper. I'm going to add the OTA module when it becomes available. The question is will a USB hub work with the Hopper or will I need to sacrifice one of the other devices?

    922 System Wizard to Hopper

I'm upgrading to a Hopper from a 922 and wanted to know if I can transfer the saved timer and system settings from the 922 remote on to the Hopper? Thanks

    211 On Third LNB

Thanks Gary. I thought this might be the case when the the CSR had to place a RV rider on my 211. Hopefully the installer will hook it up this way.

    211 On Third LNB

Just ordered a single Hopper 2 Joey install and was wondering if I can use the unused third LNB on the same 1000.4 dish to feed a owned 211? If so I'll return one of the Joeys since I don't need the DVR function.

    Hopper Upgrades

My 922 died over night and I'd like to upgrade to the Hopper and a Joey. I've been with Dish since the 6000 receiver was new, so a long time. I'd be replacing the 922 and a 622. Please PM me. Thanks

    Pac-12 Network

Multi-Sport is the key for HD. Too bad. GO DUCKS!

    Pac-12 Network

I don't think they did. The PAC-12 sent out an email last week for Direct TV subs to contact Direct to get the channels. If Direct gets the HD feed on one of the basic packages (like Comcast) I may have to look at switching carriers.

    Pac-12 Network

I just figured out you have to sub to the Multi -Sport package to get the HD channels. Sucks cause I thought if you're in a PAC-12 state you at least got 413 HD.
