Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

Well, I wanted to edit this last post down a little, feeling it might be TMI for no good reason. Guess I kinda got caught up in memories then later on the point I wanted to make. Apologies for spewing too much but I hope that the owner finds a positive way of achieving his goals.

Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

When the web started to make noise and people started it using it more and more, they slowly moved away from the BBSs and got onto the internet using slip/ppp. When that shift happened, I had about $100K dollars into my BBS at that point not counting many ancillary costs. While I could not sell...

Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

    >Thanks again. I don't think you get that we OWN our servers so I don't want to rent any. Of course I get that, I even suggested a possible use for them. I own dozens upon dozens of servers, blade chassis loaded with blades, you name it but I still rent when it's more economical to do it. >In...

Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

    >Do you need me to host your site for you? I'm sure I can do it at a very reasonable cost. Ya, at first, I guess I was being a little facetious and just wanted to make a point. >I am not offering to host your site though I probably could put it on... Later on, I started thinking that I might...

Ok, this is IRONY... I am looking at my own post and there is a big giant ad inside of it! :)

Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

I am not offering to host your site though I probably could put it on one of my lesser used servers and unless you are getting thousands of connections per second, it probably would not be a big deal. Or, I can put you in touch with a great data center where you can get a very powerful server...

Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

But you are missing the point. I've not been here in almost two years and while there are less ads, there are still quite a lot. It's much better however but the point was more about your costs. I don't understand your costs based on having been in this business for many years and having built...

Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

I wanted to offer my own thoughts and suggestions but the topic seems closed. When I first joined this site, it was nothing but frustrating because of the amount of ads. I've been running sites of all kinds since the 90's, had one that was costing me upwards of $5K/month in...

Remove the ads, remove the ads, remove the ads

I don't understand all the notices about becoming a paid member to remove the ads. There are more ads on this site than I've ever seen on any other site, which must in itself generate SOME income. I own a small data center and also outsource hosting to huge data centers and hosting is dirt...

    Picking bird on multi-lnb install

It's too cold to go up there for at least several days now but in the end, I locked the center to 91W and set a second LNB by hand, looking for signals and finding none. I locked the LNB in place then got off the roof. When I scanned, I found all of those 97W channels but none on 91W hahaha. Too...

    Picking bird on multi-lnb install

What I'm looking for is RT for sure but my main fix would be the live news channels.

    Picking bird on multi-lnb install

I have to do some more research or testing. I pointed to 91W, got a good signal, locked it in. Before I quit, I messed with a second LNB but didn't see a signal once so gave up. In the house, I hooked up a receiver, did a blind scan and low and behold, I got tons of channels, so what ever RT is...

    Picking bird on multi-lnb install

Well I finally got it set to 91W at least. So now I'm just trying to figure out how to set more LNB's.

    Picking bird on multi-lnb install

Hmm, not receiving the subscription post notices. Anyhow, receivers are KU, not sure which I'll use yet, a rack mount GEOSATpro or a traxis dbs3500. Probably the rack mount. The dish is roof/pole mounted and I've removed the GS2100 motor since it's gone bad. LNB's are standard universal, DMS...

    Picking bird on multi-lnb install

Hi again folks, HNY to everyone. So, it's time to get on the roof and get rid of my motor as its been acting up. I considered buying a new motor but have a multi-LNB tree setup I purchased last year. I finally gave in and purchased a meter. Now I'm ready to do this but my very first question...

Prescott, AZ or nearby - Anyone?

Figured it out and without a meter no less. Basically, the Internet is your friend, plenty of info to piece things together. Used dishpointer to get initial variables. Used a compass to get magnetic South and make 91W my starting point. Used SG2100 manual to find settings for motor elevation...

Prescott, AZ or nearby - Anyone?

Like dishpointer, is there a tool somewhere which would help give me the elevation of the motor and dish combination? PS, that's -112.5 Long.

Prescott, AZ or nearby - Anyone?

Since the feeds are all over the place, it means I need to get my motor on there. Darn, it's been a while and it wasn't easy. Can someone give me some leads on where I can find info or how I go about setting up the motor and dish. Based on my address, these are the parameters I've come up with...

I believe Arizona is celebrating it's 100th year as a state so depends on when he was born. Anyhow, sorry, back on thread :)

Which one has the most? I'll only be able to get one without a meter.

I'm dying to get all the live news feeds about the storm but it'll be too late by the time I get this. Which bird/s are most of those on? Maybe I'll at least get the one LNB going for that.

Are there any other FTA enthusiasts in the 86303 area or nearby? I've contacted one other person via PM so that makes two of us. Perhaps there are others?

    FREE 6' dish!

The dish/LNB and Motorola receiver are now sitting in a shed at the empty house we have up for sale. If anyone wants it, it's yours to pick up in Hugo.

    FREE 6' dish!

The dish is a 6 foot fortec which I purchased for 4DTV reception, white in color, nothing wrong with it that I know of. It is mounted on a metal pole so it's an easy dismantle for someone. If interested, contact "projects at grounded dot net" Thanks.
