went from std def to hd, do I have to redo DVR?

yes, this man ---------^ is correct. It wont work just by hiding the sd duplicates. After everything is updated you have to go in a reselect all the shows you want to record on the Hd channels.

went from std def to hd, do I have to redo DVR?

alright, thanks for the reply. I did do a "test" where I set something to record on std def and then "hid" the channel. I did record but I think it was because it was still in the process of updating everything. I will go through and reset everything. :up

went from std def to hd, do I have to redo DVR?

I just upgraded to HD and I noticed the channels were the same number for both the standard and HD channels. Will i have to go in and redo all my recordings? I had hd at one point and it seems like when I went to std definition that all my stuff I had recording like say on TLC hd, did not record...

    Sound Dropouts?

I have not expericenced that, mine will just cut in and out. Right in the middle of a show or movie the sound will just quit or cut in and out for a few seconds. Sounds like a scratched CD. It got so bad last night I had to quit watching a movie I had recorded. I then went to watch a...

    Sound Dropouts?

Im gonna bring this back up just to inquire if anything is being done about this problem? I read a rather lengthy discussion about this issue on another forum and it seems its not a big concern for the guys sending the bill every month. I have had several audio dropouts on things I have...

    Cheapest way to get MRV?

for what its worth my MRV install cost 60 bucks. I just went down to the local retailer where they have a few installers and bought a DECA module/supply and splitter off him. I gave full retail for the DECA which was 59.99 and he just gave me a splitter. Thats not bad considering If I bought it...

Can I modify existing pole/post mount?

thats what Im saying..The muffler shop wont have any "rigid" tubing. They will just have muffler pipe. Its probably the same strength as the fence post you could get at home depot. I would just go that route. That is what all the sat companies use anyway. The only place thats gonna have the good...

Can I modify existing pole/post mount?

im pretty sure the EMT will not work. I cant recall the exact OD but its like 2 3/8 or so I think. The mount for the dish wont fit over it. Im pretty sure you will need a piece of 2" tubing from a muffler shop or a fence post that is 2" OD. Its kind of hard to come by in something that is...

Instructions to get MRV (whole home DVR) activated for ethernet

no, no, Im not having problems with it. Both DVRS are hooked up to it and are streaming ondemand with no problem. I make quite a bit of cat5 cables at work. I dont do any networking, but I do have to run a bunch of cable. What I was getting at was I was going to go with the unsupported MRV. I...

Instructions to get MRV (whole home DVR) activated for ethernet

well, It seems as though I did all this for nothing as well. Its my fault as I should have checked. It seems my high dollar router is not a "gigabit" router. Its a linksys wrt400N. I dont know much about networks, but I do know that it would probably run better on the DECA setup. I guess Ill try...

Instructions to get MRV (whole home DVR) activated for ethernet

cool, thanks a bunch. I dindnt want to sound like an idiot asking for ACE when I had no clue what it stood for. I finally got to the bottom of it. Yesterday when I called she kept telling me I need a new dish. I told her I had one. When I called today the tech told me the same thing. Apparently...

Instructions to get MRV (whole home DVR) activated for ethernet

well, I called them today at work and got a lady who didnt really sound like she knew what to do when I asked her to enable the whole home DVR with my existing equipment. She told me I need a connect kit which I replied that both receivers were already online. She said ok then and put me on...

well finally got my new hr24 and my phone line finishes. I now have both hr24s online. I did email cust service and request the unsupported service be activated. To my surprise  they sent me back a generic response that included all sorts of info on whole home service and even thanked...

Do I REALLY need DECA for MRV?

Im in the same boat. You can buy cat 5 cheap so thats what I did. I bought about 400 ft, a box of 7 dollar connectors and borrowed a set of nice crimpers from work and made up two cables. Ive got about 30 dollars in the whole setup.

Instructions to get MRV (whole home DVR) activated for ethernet

well my router was purchased last year and it was $$$. It is a linkysys dual "N" band router. It has worked great for me. I would hope its as fast as a 40 dollar switch. I think I paid like 150 bucks for this thing for the range capabilities.

Instructions to get MRV (whole home DVR) activated for ethernet

I plan on using the email method when I get ready to activate mine. I am still waiting on the phone company to move by interface outside. I did have a question though. I have a router that has both wireless and several ports on the back. I could just hook both receivers up to the router directly...

question on connecting HR24's to internet

question on connecting HR24's to internet

thanks for your replies. I had to pull all new phone cable in today since I am upgrading my internet service. I had old cable and upgraded to cat5. While I was at it, I went ahead and ran a cat 5 drop to both receiver locations. If I choose not to go with the DECA, will direct TV enable the MRV...

question on connecting HR24's to internet

no I havent ordered the whole home upgrade yet, I was trying to get all the facts before I did. I was not sure what it would cost to add it to the order. I just ordered another HR24 in place of my H24. I had some questions though. Say if I want to record two shows and watch one live. With the...

question on connecting HR24's to internet

I see now that I dont need any type of adapter for the hr24s to be connected. I know, this is all common knowledge to you guys but it is all new to me. I have gone from a superdish with a dual tuner with no digital output do all this new tec stuff. I dont KNOW for sure that Im getting an HR24 as...

question on connecting HR24's to internet

thanks, I will probably just go the hardwired route then. I honestly dont watch enough TV to need to access both hard drives on either TV. I can always do that later if I find the need to. I came from no DVR to two now so I think that will hold me over for a while. When I get the receivers...

question on connecting HR24's to internet

Well, once again I was informed wrong before I got my install done. I was told I would have to pay 7 dollars a month for each DVR I had so I just got one for my living room and a standard receiver for my bedroom. Well, I was able to call Direct TV and they agreed to swap my stand receiver out...
