Well, to answer my own question, so far the early games are still being shown in SD only.

Hopefully all the League Pass games will be available in HD now. The first game starts in about 30 min. so if it's HD we'll know all is good.

Hopefully this means all the NBA League Pass games with FSN feeds will start showing up in HD this weekend.

That is a very good point. The only problem with MLB TV, however, is that it's not a widely available channel either.

I'm in a similar situation. Have a 1TB hard drive that's got over 700GB of movies, concerts, TV shows, etc. stored on it. I certainly don't want to lose all the stuff I've archived, but at the same time I can't bear the thought of watching NBA games in standard definition.
