Exact same thing happens to me regularly. Connected directly to 100Mb switch port via CAT5e cable. All other devices on same network have no problems.

Because I occasionally use the sling functionality and Dish Online often, since it is the only way to create Dish Passes on the 922.

Dish charges $5 extra monthly per dvr if I don't have either a phone line or broadband to download guide data.

Following that logic the guide data would always be downloaded via the sat uplink since if there is no internet... I would still like some confirmation from an actual Dish employee. Otherwise I am going to have to do a month-long tcpdump on my firewall or some such ;)

Well, I deleted all of the timers I set via Dish Remote Access, then recreated 35 timers via searching the programming guide. There appears to be no way to create timers manually or to create Dish Passes. So I won't know if my timers "run out" until new seasons of various shows start back up.
