Install appointment today - Bombarded by automated calls and emails

That does seem excessive for the amount of calls you should get. Like Hall said, you should get one the day before. Then if you had an a.m. appointment it should give you a call between 7:30 and 8:00 with about a 1 hour Estimated Window of Arrival (EWA). If the tech who has your appointment...

    DISH HD install questions

A 1000.2 with a 61.5 wing dish will work. If you're worried about the distance of the wing dish from the 1000.2, you could shorten it by putting in a dpp44 switch instead of running the wing dish line all the way to the 1000.2. If you do this though, you will have to run 3 lines from the...

Can you go more than 3 HD receivers w/o a DPP44?

From my experience in the field and from Dish training, a dpp lnbf will not work with a dp34 switch, you would have to use dp lnbf's.

    Installation and Wiring questions

Here's the cable diagrams from dish assuming you have a diplexer. The diagram wouldn't change that much without it, just need a separate line from the receiver to tv2.

    Installation and Wiring questions

From the dish, you only need 1 cable from the dish to the receiver. Connect it to port 1 on the lnbf. If you have a diplexer, you can run the cable from the dish to your home cable junction and connect it to the SAT port on the diplexer. Then connect the line going to the receiver to the...

New Upgrade Prices for Hopper w/ Sling

If your dish setup contains both 119 and 61.5, then you should disconnect one of them before installing the Hopper/HWS. Once the download is complete, you can connect it back up, and then run a check switch test once the install wizard has finished.

    Question for installers.

You can use a long flexible drill bit to drill through the fire block, then tie the cable(s) to the flex bit and use the bit to pull them through the wall at the bottom.

Is it reasonable to have a reinstall?

They should do it, but since the installation has already been done, be prepared for them to charge you a $50 custom work charge for every room that you want rewired. Also, if you want the tech to wall fish the cables under the house, tell him before he starts, otherwise he might just bring it...

    Dish Network Dilirious Diplexer Dilemna

You need to connect a cable from one of the ports on the ground block to the SAT port on the diplexer. Then connect the cable that leads to the room with the receiver to the IN/OUT port on the diplexer. And finally, connect the cable that goes to your tv2 room to the VHF/UHF port on the diplexer.

    Dish "Everything" package..

Actually, that adds up to $17.98. I'm pretty sure if you broke it down, it would be $7 for tv1 + $7 for tv2 + $3 for dvr equipment = $17. That's why the 612/512 is $10, $7 for tv1 + $3 for dvr equipment.

    Does hopper have homeplug?

The hopper doesn't have homeplug built in like the VIP receivers. You can still use homeplug if you use 2 devices. One at the router location and one at the hopper location.

S224 for Hopper and S273 for Joey is out

It's a site for dish technicians/employees to receive news/updates/training. As far as I know, you have to be employed by Dish to get access to it.

S224 for Hopper and S273 for Joey is out

I'm pretty sure this was only supposed to be released to employees right now, so you probably got it by mistake if you're not a Dish employee. From what I've been reading on DNS portal from people who have it, I'm glad I haven't upgraded myself to the hopper yet as this update does seem to...

Tuner 3 - Lost Signal - New Hopper Install.

If there really is no node between the dish and the hopper, then you will only be able to use 2 tuners on the hopper. There should be 2 lines coming from the dish, going into a solo node (you can take out the ground block and put the solo node in its place), and then 1 line from the host port...

    DISH Launches dishNET Broadband

I just went to the training recently for installing this service, and we were told that DishNET was going to be both Hughesnet and Exede. At first, the DishNET dishes that Dish provides will mainly be for Hughesnet installs, but once we go through our current Exede inventory, it will all be...

Thinking of switching from cable to dish and hopper

The maximum distance the joey can be is 200 ft from the hopper. Meaning, the cable length from the hopper to the node plus the cable length from the node to the joey.

Yes, everything we run is dual shield. But you can get them in quad shield too.

    RG6 Cable Install

I'm an in-house dish tech, and we use Vextra v66 series (copper clad) cable for our installs. We use Vextra v621 series (solid copper) for our wildblue/exede installs. As others have said, either will work with dish, but I'd go with solid copper if I were running it myself in my own house.

Dish no longer allows customers that have NLOS to cancel out of contract.

Comparing Skew (www.DishPointer.com VS Dish Network Instructions)

I think you may be looking at the wrong dish settings on dishpointer. I just did a quick check on the settings for Bauxite, AR and it says the skew is 122.9°. You should be using the settings for 1000.2 on dishpointer if you have a 1000.4 WA.
