    Change in DVR recording behavior?

Hi all, My Hopper is running S244. I just noticed a change in behavior, but maybe I'm missing something? When I used to locate a future program on the guide, pressing "select" would bring up a sub-menu that allowed me to "record this series". From that screen I could select a destination...

    What's up with HD fees?

I tried Scott's suggestion. When I go to my programming, there is nothing showing under HD channels. I do have HD, and pay for Gold and Platinum at $10/month each. Any idea why nothing shows under HD? I'll probably just have to call in, as there are also several HD channels that show as...

    Recording Shows from Internet

Yeah, thanks. I've been waiting for the live launch of this service, not realizing that the beta program was still in place. Very nice.

    Dying 129

I live in Pasadena and after a tech re-peaked my DISH 1000, he told me that the 60 or so I was getting was "as good as it gets". It works better than it did, but I was in the 40's before he re-peaked. It's now acceptable with infrequent bouts of pixelation that last only a second or two. CB

Have brake up on 4 hd channels

I've had the same problem on the West Coast after I had a Dish 1000 installed - although primarily on my HD locals. Tech came out on Saturday and repeaked for 129, and it seems better - although not perfect). Signal on 129 was generally below 50 before, now it's up around 60. The tech said...

Additional 622 for $99 Upgrade Information....

Just called the 'special number' (2PM PST) and got right through to "advanced tech". I asked to upgrade my 942 (leased) for a 622. The woman who helped me was excellent, making sure the install was for 1 receiver and 2 TV's. Very plesant experience - took about 20 minutes total. While she...

Dish 1000 and 129 in Southern California

You know, I'm really not sure. I'll try to remember to check it out and report back. Maybe I've just been lucky - even when it is raining ;) . I may have overstated the "flawlessly" part slightly. I should say that I see very occaisional pixselation - but, it is pretty rare. I used to see...

Dish 1000 and 129 in Southern California

"Everybody"? I'm in the LA area. In November, I managed to get the $250 lease deal on a 942. When the installer came out, he said he had to add two dishes to the one I already had so that I could get HD with Voom. I wasn't excited about telling the wife that we would have THREE dishes on...

Please Correct me if I'm wrong

OK, you're wrong. This isn't a government, it's a business. It's called "capitalism". Businesses that provide goods and services can set rules as to what will be offered and how it may be purchased. Your power is in your ability to choose NOT to purchase those good and services, or to...

    Upgrade now or wait.

While I agree with advice given above, you should probably know by now that your wife is always right. :bow CB

Let me get this straight....you have all been waiting for 2/1 and E* really blew it!!

Um, isn't that what you want too? I will be thrillled when more HD content is available. But, I've been wating for years, a couple of months won't hurt me. CB

New Dish customers read these existing customer posts

I hear you. As I wrote, I'm onboard and looking anxiously forward to more HD content. I guess I'm not too upset about missing the "Voom promise date" - we see this all the time (Microsoft?). We are in the midst of changing technology, and the change will not always be easy. I, too, was...

An easy answer to this mess....revolt

Strength in numbers? I agree with the sentiment that if you don't like it, quit! The number of people that read (let alone post) this forum represent a tiny fraction of DISH customers. Cable? It was the freakin' cable companies and their lack of service and product that made me jump to...

New Dish customers read these existing customer posts

What an interesting question. Are "you critics" really D* employees? I have some sympathy for those who recently paid a lot of money for equipment, and must now upgrade, once again, to have the 'best of the best'. But, when we moved last year we gave away a bunch of what WAS the best of the...

How many have worked a 622 deal already?

Thanks for the quick response. I do have a 942 (leased). I was just wondering about the timing of the order versus the timing of the rebate (and return of the leased 942). If I could order a 622 immediately, then wait until 4/1 to return the 942 to get the rebate, I'd do it in a second. CB

How many have worked a 622 deal already?

Sorry if I've missed this - but, there is a LOT if information flying around. I've seen many posts that say the 622 will be available for $299 (new or existing), and that existing subs can get a rebate of $200 starting 4/1. Does this mean that I could order a 622 for $299 on Feb 1, then wait...

    Dish 942 Lease

Tim, I just wrote down my general history with DISH. Nothing too detailed, just how long I've been a customer, using CC autopay, what I own, etc. I also mentioned that I was moving to HDTV, but that I was hesitant to buy a 942 at this time given the pending technology changes around the...

    Dish 942 Lease

Well, thanks to this thread, I gave the executive office email thing a try to lease a 942. I sent an email on Friday around noon. I got a call back on Saturday. I was offered an 'exception': the $250 lease deal. Also, 1/2 price on HD pack for the first year and half off the cost of a...

    Dish Mover charges

No, like Grandma, I got it free. No up front charge on a CC. My bill shows a $99.95 install fee, then a discount of the same amount. It sounds like Grandma will be taken care of. I was surprised and happy about how easy my move and the install was. Two guys came out and cabled three spots...

    Dish Mover charges

I just used Dishmover a couple of weeks ago. I was charged $99.95 and was given a "Dish 500 discount" of $99.95. I've been a customer for a number of years, but didn't do anything special - I just called and said "I'm moving!". Good luck. Barry

    Moving - what to do?

I have been an E* customer for several years. We've bought a new house, and will be moving over the next few weeks. Our current set-up includes no HD, a DISH 500, with a 508 a 4600 and a 3700 (all owned). My dilemma is what to do at the new location. I have been happy with E* and would...
