Looks like another release with broken audio (for genie). Is there any upside to these recent releases, or are we strictly beta testing these? I don't mind doing ce releases, but it kind of surprises me that d* would release something with such a glaring flaw...

Totally. It looks to me like they're asking us edge-cutters to test 62c to be the next NR. I'm going to put it on my secondary hr24-500, and leave 64d on my hr24-200 and compare.

62C is "lower" in hex than 64D, it's possible that this one is from a different development team or something, who knows. RedH is announcing 62C as new, so I'm thinking that's what it is this week. I'll roll the dice, that's what CE is about, yeah? The notes, upon further inspection, state that...

So, I had an online offer pop up to "upgrade to an hd-dvr for free." I already have an hr-24, so I was kinda confused so I called in, and the csr said "nope, we don't see that offer, but we can set you up with a genie for $299 or an hd-dvr for $199, or an hd receiver for $99 + $49 install."...

This ce has been fine for me, very smooth. Based on the feedback in this thread, I straight-up skipped the ota channel setup entirely, because I don't have an am-21, and it looks like the commonality of problems may be related to that...just a thought. I have an hr24-200.

I used to work for primestar in their call center here, and some of the old tricks still work. A lot of it too is your tone when you talk to them. This might sound stupid, but act younger than you are. By and large, you're talking to 20-something kids, and it helps if you can relate in some way...

It's all who you talk to, I guess. CSR roulette works, and sOmetimes you get lucky on the first try.
