    82w in northern maryland

I had a lot of interference with 77W as well. Took a lot of tweaking before 82W finally showed up. I do get all usable transponders, but rain fade is a problem. Don't notice dropout by time of day, though.

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

Just an update: I ordered and installed a 1m Winegard and pointed it at 91. The signal strength is marginal, however I now have EPG again!!! Current setup: 76cm Winegard pointed at 82W 1m Winegard pointed at 91W Dishes connected to two SW21s

    82w in northern maryland

I'm using a 76cm Winegard in Lancaster, PA (about 70 miles north of you) and I'm getting just enough signal to watch TV (60s-70s signal strength). I haven't used an elliptical dish, so I don't know how it would compare. Since you are noticeably south of me, I'm guessing you would need a fairly...

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

Got a PM from someone else that confirmed they lost EPG on 82.

Bell signal in the southern provinces - update

Same thing here. I'm only pointed at 82 and have been getting the program guide without issue until last week. Came here to see if anyone else was reporting the same issue and your post seems to confirm it. It wouldn't be so bad except my PVR won't work at all, even to record live TV.

Bell TV in Harrisburg, PA area

I'll second that opinion. I live in Lancaster and have a 30" dish which works fine until it starts to rain. A 36" dish would probably make it more reliable.

    Bell TV In Penn Hills?

You are inside the footprint, but not by much. Just speaking from my experience in Lancaster, PA I would recommend a bigger dish. I currently have a 75cm dish and receive 82 at 65-70% so I generally lose reception when it rains (I'm not currently picking up 91). You could try the Dish 500...

    77 interfering with 82?

Issue resolved Got it working! I couldn't just rely on my signal meter, so I took my tablet up on the roof and used Skype to see the TV screen, then adjusted the dish until I saw 82. There was NO break in the signal meter between 77 and 82! This is going to make it difficult to align a dish...

    77 interfering with 82?

Yeah, I saw that thread but didn't really see any resolution. Interesting thought on trying different TPs. Would changing the TP on the signal pointer really make it lock onto a different satellite? Worth a try! How long has 77 been active? It's strange to me that this issue only occurred...

    77 interfering with 82?

I had my Bell dish pointed at 82W for the better part of a year with signals in the 70% range (in SE Pennsylvania) on a 30" Winegard. Last week I had my garage re-shingled so I had to take down the dish. Prior to taking down the dish, I marked the elevation and angle settings on the dish...

Does anyone subscribe to Bell woyh 82 only?

I was not able to authorize on 82 only. I had to temporarily point to 91, authorize, then when I pointed back to 82, I was set. See this thread: http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/294477-82W-only-for-Bell

    91W NIMIQ 6 completely active now....footprint changed

Here in Lancaster, PA it seemed to me that 91 has increased as well. Back in July I lost all signal, but now recently when I needed to initialize my new receiver, I was able to get 40-50% signal on 91 with my 30" Winegard. Regarding 82, I'm still getting 75-80% on all transponders, so I don't...

    91W NIMIQ 6 completely active now....footprint changed

@edlkll just curious, what did you miss about 91? I'm currently hooked into 82, but not 91 and am curious what I would be missing other than SD versions of my HD channels.

    Channels on new Satellite

Just an update for posterity's sake. Because I was using a new receiver, I had to point my dish at 91 to initially download the firmware. I purchased a 30" Winegard which is giving me almost 50% signal on 91, so I was able to download the firmware. Then I resync'd the receiver on the Bell...

    82W only for Bell

THANK YOU!!! It is indeed a new receiver. I tried 91 again and was able to get just enough signal (40%-50%) to download the firmware. Then I had to resync the receiver from the website, point it back to 82 and now I'm getting all HD channels! I am also getting the EPG from 82, so at this...

    82W only for Bell

Alright, I took my TV and receiver out to the garage which is where the dish is mounted. I ran two cables from the lnb directly to Satellite 1 and Satellite 2 inputs. I ran "Check Switch" which shows connection on 82 for both inputs. I have 60-70% signal on all transponders for both inputs...

    82W only for Bell

Thanks for the response. It's a long run from the satellite to the receiver. Will a switch do the trick? And yes, I always run a check switch after changing the setup.

    82W only for Bell

As I've posted previously, I am now in an area where I can only receive signal from 82W and not the new 91W satellite. I have a Bell 9241 Receiver. I just installed a 30" Winegard dish which is giving me about 70% signal on all transponders. The trouble is, my receiver is stuck at "Acquiring...

    Channels on new Satellite

Still having issues and getting a little frustrated. I have some questions regarding getting my BellTV working in the US now that I'm outside the 91W footprint. First, my setup: Standard 20" dish DPP LNB (have also tried the Dish LNB) 9241 Receiver Locked onto 82W at ~50% signal on most...

So I should be able to use the dish pointer on my old 3100 receiver to at least verify reception?

    Channels on new Satellite

An update. My satellite guy was here today trying things out. The strange thing is that he gets the dish pointed, it shows up on the "point dish" screen as 82W, but then when I run a check switch, the satellite shows up as 72W or 77W. Literally, I ran check switch once and it showed 72, then...

    Channels on new Satellite

Alright, I'm going to try to stick with Bell. So I got a 9241 receiver, set it up with a DPP twin LNB and separator. I'm getting signal from 82W on both inputs when I run a check switch (per my previous posts, 91W is not an option). However, when it goes to download information, all I get is...

    Channels on new Satellite

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I've actually already determined that I can't get signal from 91 on a 1m dish. I wouldn't mind switching to Shaw except for one reason: Jets channel! Guess I'll just have to go with my 82W and reassess if/when they start moving channels.
