Either a tv is used to watch live tv or watch a recording in progress if all the tuners are full. But what I thought the word was it would have 11 tuners with 7 sessions. Meaning if every single tv is on live tv, you can still record 4 things.

I agree with most of this. Dish receivers are probably better and faster but directv receivers are good enough to do most. And DIRECTV has better picture. As said above dish SD in mpeg4 is better than DIRECTVs mpeg2 SD but HD is much better on DIRECTV. 720p is about the same but 1080i on DIRECTV...

I would wager to guess no. Unless they release new clients (which is possible, but not necessary) the clients out now (c61, c31) would probably be the same ones they use with the new server (keeping in mind the new thing is simply a server, it doesn't output video).

5 seconds could just be a round number he used. If the box is changing resolution (or changing channels with different resolutions) different tvs could take longer or shorter time to make the adjustments, so my time may not be the same as yours (if that's the problem here). Also occasionally...

I agree. That's just my guess, normally the tv goes dark for a second then comes right back. Could be something different, maybe others will have a different guess.

The second problem seems to happen all the time. Im not sure if someone has come up with a solution but I've grown to ignore it. The first problem may be the box when it switches resolution if it's in "Native" mode (i.e. A 720p channel will be transmitted to tv in 720 and same for 1080i, 480)...

Doesn't that describe most cable channels? Frankly I don't mind "reruns" per se but at least get some variety. Channels like metv and antenna do well because they have a wide range of programs spanning many years. Cloo (and most cable chs) play all day marathons of NCIS and SVU from 5 years ago.

Another fool proof method of selecting audio is info>>audio/video>> and choose from the list of audio tracks. That's how these channels work. It's just a 1080i video with a box that hovers over the screen which changes the audio track (similar to the SAP audio selection)

That's how interactive channels are sometimes (like the ST game mix channels). It may or may not work if you press the "Exit" button while on the channel.

Thought it was good. Still using it now. Thought it was VERY dumb to put Comedy Central as one of the 6 options but no Fox Business. Bloomberg and BBC were also interesting choices.
