Yeah, you can't even get a DISH 942 from SBC....they won't be getting as many sign ups as they used to because customers can go directly with retailers and DISH directly, but won't be able to sign up as new customers though.

Echostar is probably doing this because a lease fee of $250 appears to be better than $1K for DirecTV's HD DVR. The thing I don't like about DirecTV that you are locked into their equipment because you have ot buy it. At least with Echostar/DISH you have the option of lease vs buying.

Have you seen any news on when this SBC 2-tuner HD DVR is supposed to be released?
