Greetings. Does Satellite Guys offer any of their own private ROKU channels by way of a paid subscription? Thank you.

    Satellite Internet

Hi guys and gals, I live in The Bahamas where the fastest internet I can get is via DSL, and it maxes out at about 3 Mbps. (Yes, Megabits, not Megabytes.) Does anybody know which, if any, satellite internet provider has the best speed - particularly for my area, maybe (for instance, anybody...

    Dish mod?

Sorry for the delay. Eastern arc is VERY weak - worse than western arc. For Bahamas and Florida I would recommend WESTERN ARC - 110 119 &b 129. I'm going to do a set up of a dish 500 for 110 and 119 and put 129 on separate dish. I'll report back.

    Dish mod?

What about if I used three Dish 500's - one for each of those satellites? Wouldn't that improve signal quality? It is the receiver that processes the signal into HD right, and not the LNB?

    Dish mod?

So is there any alternative to the 1000.2 dish to where the signal quality can be improved for the configuration needed for Dishnet HD?
  7. thebilgey1

    Dish mod?

Thank you stargazer. I believe it will work, I'm just wondering if there will be any gain, or if the present signal quality is all one can expect from those satellites with the triple LNB.

    Dish mod?

I hope this is a the right place for this. The standard 1000.2 dish with the triple LNB doesn't really get a strong signal. Has anybody done any mods on a bigger dish to which they have attached the triple LNB? I have a 1 meter Hughesnet dish that I can use if it will get me a stronger signal on...

    Viewsat Ultra & Hughesnet 40" dish/lnb

I'm on 91W, but all I can get is Nimiq 1. Galaxy 17 is not programmed into the Viewsat Ultra, and I cannot figure out how to add a satellite. I'm either gonna try to borrow an old Pansat from a friend and try that, or try to mod an old 310 Dishnet to receive FTA, or something else. Will keep you...

OK, just found out, I'm on 89W. Gonna try some more tomorrow. I'm off, so I'll have some more time. I'll post my results. Oh, is Galaxy 17 still on 91W? Thanks again, Bill

    Viewsat Ultra & Hughesnet 40" dish/lnb

Hi guys, got started late tonight. I'm now getting a satellite that has only Baltimore, Atlanta, Kansas, Seattle, Dallas, etc.- no video or audio, but good signal and quality. About ten channels. I have no idea for sure what I'm hitting, but I'm pretty sure I need to change the LNB. I have a...

    Viewsat Ultra & Hughesnet 40" dish/lnb

Thank you schlever, I'm gonna try some more fine tuning tomorrow. I'll post my results, because I know there are peeps who are interested in if a Hughesnet dish with original LNB will work for FTA.

    Viewsat Ultra & Hughesnet 40" dish/lnb

northgeorgia, I guess that's what it is. I'm new to FTA, and I was trying to find 91W. So I might be hitting 87W you think?

    Viewsat Ultra & Hughesnet 40" dish/lnb

I have a Viewsat Ultra that I am trying to set up for FTA with a Hughsnet 40" round dish. I think the dish is actually a Winegard. I am using the two way LNB that came with the Hughsnet package, I have disconnected the transmit side. Can anyone give me the setup for the Viewsat, i.e. LNB type...

No, I don't have service from Direc**, so that pretty much answers my question for me right there. Thank you.
