Is Dish zooming HD channels now?

Thanks guys. I was hoping that was it, but wasn't aware of the format button. Tried to fix it in the menus, but only saw an option for 16:9 which is what it was set to. I will try the format button next!

Is Dish zooming HD channels now?

Strangest thing, I started noticing I can't see the entire station identification watermark on HD channels now. Noticed it on Discovery and Food network. On Discovery, while watching Mythbusters, I can see "NEW EPISO", while if I turn one channel down to SD Discovery, I see the full "NEW...

    Did TurboHD lose G4?

Hm, ok. How long does that last? Seems like I had it for a month or two.

    Did TurboHD lose G4?

Sorry, I don't come here everyday, I just noticed my DVR is making 0:00 recordings for shows on G4 now, so I tried tuning to the channel and I no longer get it. Did we lose G4?

Possible to get locals from 2 cities?

I dunno if I am diplexing now or not. The installer put up the 1000.2 dish I think, on the western arc. It's connected to 1 box. Seems like nothing should be diplexed. Any idea on what parts are needed and how to wire it?

Possible to get locals from 2 cities?

I guess I could turn the Yagi toward chattanooga. It's pointed to Atlanta right now and hasn't been used in 2 years. When it was working, it would only pick up Fox. Not sure if CBS Chattanooga is close enough to get. How does DISH OTA work? Can I splice the antenna output into the dish...

    I meant falcons/rams.

Possible to get locals from 2 cities?

We have both Comcast cable and Dish TurboHD. With Comcast, we get the Atlanta and Chattanooga CBS affiliate. Therefore I can watch both the Falcons/Saints game and the Titans/Colts game in SD. With TurboHD, I only get the Atlanta CBS affiliate so I can't watch the Colts game at all. Is...

Is it possible to control a 1 TV setup (vip 722) with remote 2?

I'm in single mode, but remote 2 does nothing.

Is it possible to control a 1 TV setup (vip 722) with remote 2?

I'd like to hide my box in a cabinet and use remote #2 (the uhf remote) to control it with no line of sight. Is this possible? When I switch the batteries over to remote #2 it doesn't do anything. The box is in 1 tv mode.

How often does a vip 722 "call home"?

Well I think you can make it manually call home. They mistakenly billed me the $5 when I first got set up and the tech guy had me do a manual call home.

How often does a vip 722 "call home"?

Ok, so how long can it stay disconnected before I get the $5 fee? Can I just connect it 1 day out of the month?

How often does a vip 722 "call home"?

We don't have a phone line so I have my 722 hooked up via ethernet to call home so I don't get the $5 charge. We just got a Blu Ray player with Netflix streaming that I want the wireless bridge connected to (the router and cable modem is a LONG way from the living room). Do I need to hook...

Billing nightmare and bait and switch tactics -- Should I expect this from now on?

Dude, I don't know what your problem is. I saw on DirecTVs website about a free advanced reciever. In order to find out what that actually means I would probably have to sit on the line with a DTV agent for 30 mins and never get a straight answer. Instead I told DISH I would be their customer...

Billing nightmare and bait and switch tactics -- Should I expect this from now on?

The installer was a very nice guy and to his credit we tried the broadband during setup. I was in the room when he tried it. It kept saying connection failed. He eventually had to call in a "bypass" in order to finish activation. He told me the $5 charge may or may not show up and I might...

Billing nightmare and bait and switch tactics -- Should I expect this from now on?

If they didn't want to give me the deal and thought a new customer wasn't worth a 722, then they should have said no. I would have been fine with that, but they obviously thought the 722 was worth a customer or they thought I would roll over and eat the $50 charge. Different providers are...

Billing nightmare and bait and switch tactics -- Should I expect this from now on?

I don't know what you mean by DISH partner. I called the number on the DISH website to order. Frankly I didn't check on DirecTVs deals because people here said if you mention another carrier they will give you what you ask for most of the time. What DirecTV will give me isn't the issue, the...

    A little unhappy with installer

Ok, cool. I didn't know all of the technical reasons behind it. Right now there are no practical reasons to ask for EA, but I just wanted to make sure.

Billing nightmare and bait and switch tactics -- Should I expect this from now on?

Got DISH last week and just logged on to take a look at my bill and my head almost exploded. What I expected: HBO, Starz, Platinum HD free for 3 months. Cinemax .01 for 1 year Free upgrade to 722 reciever (after mentioning DirecTV and coaxing a CSR) $50 credit on first bill $34.99 monthly for...

    A little unhappy with installer

I just got the Turbo HD package and I checked with a CSR before the install to make sure that I was getting a 722 on the Eastern Arc. I did get the 722, but I guess the installer didn't want to make the effort to find a LOS for the EA and he just pointed me at the western sats. I know there...

Garbage on top of screen on certain channels?

I was aware of overscan on CRTs, but I thought LCDs, being a fixed-pixel display didn't have overscan.

Will DISH bend any on the additional rcvr charge?

Just got TurboHD in my room and my roommate likes it so much he wants it. He isn't willing to pay the $100 fee for another receiver. Will DISH waive this for me? I just got mine installed yesterday.
