    HSP in Houston TX

Unfortunately, I don't know of any good DirecTV dealers here. I just installed mine on my own. The local cable provider here is Time Warner Cable so I would definitely be trying to find a good dealer. :) I'll let you know if I hear anything.

6 Posts and can't post links when it says I only need 5?

Greetings: I was trying to reply to a thread about OTA Houston channels and I tried to post a link to the large Houston thread at AVS. However, it wouldn't let me post the link even though I have 6 posts. I removed the link and tried to submit it again and it still wouldn't let me post...

Can Pick Up 110 Bird, 101 and 119 are No Shows?

I shouldn't have any problems though since the sky is clear after 192 degrees, correct? Grydlok: I was thinking that too, but I triple checked all around the pole and the top of it with a level and everything is straight on. I'll try raising the elevation some more when I go back up there...

Evening: Pointing satellite dishes is nothing new to me, but I'm am just shocked that I can't lock onto 101. I am currently trying to point a Phase III dish. It is located on a plumb pole mount approximately 5 ft off the ground. Here's my alignment info: Azimuth = 202 degrees Elevation =...

Grounding - Pole Mount 100 ft away

So, should I terminate it to the ground block then? I thought I read that wasn't such a smart idea.

Grounding - Pole Mount 100 ft away

Thanks for the reply. I know #6 grounding wire is needed to bond two ground rods. However, I don't think I need an additional ground rod in this case. I'm still confused as to where I'm supposed to terminate the ground coming from the pole/dish. As I said earlier, the electrical ground is 25...

Grounding - Pole Mount 100 ft away

Evening: I'm a little confused on grounding a pole mount that is approximately 100 ft from the house (due to LOS issues). I did some research here on grounding pole mounts, but I'm still uncertain. The cable entry is located on the back of the house which is an additional 25 ft. from the main...
