    Titanium ASC1 Latest Update

I use the ASC1 with a new Venture 36" actuator. It is rated at 5 amp 36 volts. I do not get errors but due to a cable lenght of 100ft it may be off a count or 2 sometimes. I am using the firmware with 199 positions.

    ASC 1 Question

Yes I did that same thing myself back in the 90s. I used a second positioner to control the elevation actuator. But it was not Disecq controlled of course.

    ASC 1 Question

Great to know, maybe a future project!

    ASC 1 Question

Hi, would it be possible to wire 2 Titanium ASC 1 Positioners in parallel to control one actuator for azimuth and one for elevation and thereby create a cheap ( in comparson to other systems like Nitec Egis etc.) and easy to use, Diseqc compatibe dual axis controller? The setup would looks...

    Broken Pivot. Part Replacement???

You will be happy with the Venture MAXI. The long delivery time and higher price is well worth it. Just got one myself and they are a night-and-day difference in comparison to cheap China crap.

    Titanium ASC1 Latest Update

Google Translate is a nightmare if there are any terms and words from a certain technical or medical field. It only works for VERY basic sentence structures and common conversations. There is an easy test to get an idea of Google´s capabilities: Translate your text from your native language in a...

    Titanium ASC1 Latest Update

2. Hast du überprüft, ob der Spannungsabfall der...

    Titanium ASC1 Latest Update

That cannot be the original. It is of the same quality as the English version and definitely not native German (Grammar all over the place, wrong words...).Must also be automatically translated. Something is amiss here.

    Titanium ASC1 Latest Update

OK, I really don´t get anything now....these translations make barely sense in German or English....Is there an original German version of this text? I will gladly translate but the version above loses lots of info in translation.

    Heating for the BUD

Just finished reaiming/reprogramming all satellites. Way more precise and faster than my old actuator too. Right now the temperatures are in the 40s so the real freeze-test will come when it gets cold. I will keep you updated. Limit sensing routine only activated when the real limits were...

    Heating for the BUD

Hi, just an update concerning the problem described above with the count error. I received my new Venture actuator recently and installed it today. As I hoped, the errors are gone so it was the cheap-China SuperJack actuator causing the trouble. I can go to the east and west limits now without...

    NOS "old style" Chaparral Corotors

I got them from level421.com. The have mostly professinal equipment for satellite Rx/Tx. You will not see prices on most items unless you register but the Norsat C Band LNB was 50 US$ and the New Japan Radio 2842L KU LNB was around 120 US$. These were the best prices I could find. This is the...

    NOS "old style" Chaparral Corotors

    NOS "old style" Chaparral Corotors

I doubt you will see any loss with the Corotor. The skew control will most likely make up for any loss compared to a combined LNBF. A couple degrees in skew fine tuning will do lots of improvement. Not every satellite uses the same fixed H/V skew so a feed with no skew control which only adapts...

    NOS "old style" Chaparral Corotors

On my setup, no. The S Band antenna is not connected to anything (yet). The plug is the N type I think. The linear polarisation on C band works fine for me. The linear polarisation is 180° inverted to circular so your skew setting for R/L to H/V needs to be inverted too. You basically need 4...

    NOS "old style" Chaparral Corotors

Hi, yes they are from Cyprus. The same source I bought the first one last year. I thought shipping last year was higher but this time I paid roughly 100 Euros including shipping. Should be about the same to the UK and I think even shipping to the US can be done for under 150 Euro total with...

    NOS "old style" Chaparral Corotors

Just got one of these NOS Corotors as a spare part for my dish. Here are some pictures to show the difference of the KU feed to current production Corotors. The scalar ring on this model has an additional S-Band Antenna btw.

    Heating for the BUD

Ok, I hope that the higher quality actuator will take care of at least part of the problem. I don´t want any part of equipment to fail due to safety overrides but the tracking errors in cold weather or on the far east side with almost fully extended actuator are a nuisance. Temperatures below...

    Heating for the BUD

Hi Titanium, The would it be very troublesome to release a beta firmware version which allows a 3/4 second time out? I bet it would work for many with the same problem without risking any damage more than what 1/2 a second does. The lower the count per inch value of the reed sensor on the...

    Heating for the BUD

I have the same problem with my cheap SuperJack 3636 actuator and the ASC 1. Once it gets cold it shows errors. In my opinion, the ASC1 is a tad to sensitive to higher current cut outs. It would be nice if the software allowed more detailed configuration such as sensitivity on count errors or...

    NOS "old style" Chaparral Corotors

Hi, I may have located a source which has a lot of NOS Chaparral C/KU Corotors available. They are the older type with the better KU probe before ADL made Chaparral change it to the "Dipole" design as in current models. They seem to work better on KU in comparison to the "new" ones ( and by...

My new ( and I mean NEW) C Band setup finally done

Thanks for the insight in your work back in the 80s. I wonder if those dishes are still existing in Landstuhl....never was there personally. Heidelberg has ( or had?) lots of army installations including the headquarter for European operations if I´m not mistaken. In recent years all or most of...

My new ( and I mean NEW) C Band setup finally done

Wow a 60 ft dish is something to remember....But I guess even with that there was not much regarding satellite television back in 1983 ( the year I was born btw) in Germany. Commercial satellite TV did not kick in before the late 80s overhere. Before that, only a handful stations were on air...

My new ( and I mean NEW) C Band setup finally done

Hmm the Intelsat Global Beams generally have a nice mix of interesting programming, many African channels. Intelsat at 68,5° east or 1° west. east for example. NSS ( now SES6) at 40,5° west covers South American channels.... Yamal at 54° east is also quite interesting if you like Russian TV...
