Pause works for me. $5 a month isn’t much and I’ll finish up my contract later this year when I reinstate service for 4 months. Then right back into pause I go. If dish messes around with pause, then I will outright cancel.

Dish has to change. Start by telling programmers the truth. You are losing subscrivers in droves because of high priced channel bundling. EW Scripps is taking direct aim at you with their OTA push.

Newsy will go the furthest and fastest with the extensive OTA reach of Scripps. Scripps is going all in on OTA for cord cutters. Smart move, IMO.

It’s almost as if they turned pause into a package, crodrules. You have to be on the $5 a month pause to get it.

In suburban areas like mine, digital subchannels are definitely eating into cable and satellite TV. OTA and streaming in some sort of mix is gaining ground.

I can see them buying WNEM in Michigan. It already carries ION on a subchannel.

I went on Dish pause for 6 months. I have 3 months left on contract. I hardly watch TV anymore and have about 30 useful OTA channels, many of which are in AT120 and up. I will come off pause for the college football season, satisfy my contract term and go right back on pause for 6-9 months...

I bet Scripps takes a good look at buying them. Good opportunity to spread their reach for the Katz subchannels.

I went on Dish Pause for the next 5 months. The list you mentioned above is what you receive while on pause. Of course the free previews will vary.

No big rush or deal. I’ll just run AT120 plus from september to january, if I don’t find another service i like. I get about 30 usable channels OTA in the Detroit area. More than enough for my limited summer viewing.

Keep in mind you may have duplicates of CourtTV, Mystery, Laff, Bounce and GRIT due to contractual obligations with non-Scripps stations. Once those contracts end, the subchannels will disappear.

In Detroit, CourtTV, CourtTVMystery and GRIT are moving to WPXD virtual channels 31.2, 31.3 and 31.4 WPXD is a station under INYO management.
