I just noticed that KSMO has dropped Byron Allen's The Grio & has replaced it with Weigel's Heroes & Icons. This comes almost 2 weeks after sister station KCTV dropped Byron Allen's This TV & replaced it with Weigel's Start TV. I also noticed that KMBC also dropped the malfunctioning 9.4...

I noticed it this morning (3/5/2024) when I was flipping around through the channels on one of my TV's. This leaves KCKS-LD & KMJC-LD, Ch. 25.11 as the only channels still carrying This TV in the immediate Kansas City, MO.

Earlier this week, there was a small subchannel shuffle in Kansas City, MO, involving the following channels & diginets: WDAF-TV, Ch. 4.3 switched from Court TV to Rewind TV. KMCI-TV, Ch. 38.3 switched from Ion Mystery to Court TV. KPXE-TV, Ch. 50.2 switched from Court TV to Ion Mystery.

What kind of TV antenna are you using?

I'm still not able to get KMBC-TV, Ch. 9.4 either, however I can still see Ch. 9.4 listed on my HDHomerun tuners when I tune them to KMBC's digital TV signal. I am guessing that they are still having problems with the encoder. I do remember their sister station, KCWE-TV, having similar...

One is actually also a 4-way splitter.

The antenna that I am using is a Channel Master VHF & UHF outdoor antenna from the late 80's-early 90's & a couple of signal boosters.

That one was via e-skip.

There has been some pretty good e-skip & Tropo the past 24 hours in the Midwest. Mostly TV stations that I've seen before.

From what I remember, that happened around 2009.

Rabbitears.info shows that KCMN-LD, in Kansas City, MO, uses RF Ch. 28.

The signals of Kansas City's CBS, ABC, MNTV & CW affiliates are now being encrypted with DRM. The other ATSC 3.0 signals, in KC, are still in the clear.

I'm thinking that they are having technical problems right now, possibly a malfunctioning encoder. My HDHomerun tuners pick it up, however I also see the "Video Unavailible" screen.

Just noticed that the Kansas City, MO, ATSC 3.0 TV stations are now using QAM256 encryption. Can confirm that my HDHomerun 4K Connect did receive an update & can still pick them up.

The channel lit up around 10:30AM CDT.

I pointed my TV antenna North, & later East, this morning & picked up some distant TV stations & also noticed that KOMU-TV, Columbia, MO, has lit up it's new UHF channel & is in the process of moving from RF VHF Ch. 8 to RF UHF Ch. 27.

KCCW may have been interfering with them. I have also picked up KEYC in the past.

Received the usual distant TV stations from Joplin, MO, Springfield, MO, Topeka, KS & Marshfield, MO (K14SH simulcasts KNLC-TV, Ch. 24.2, St. Louis, MO.), this morning. Did anybody else here recieve any distant TV stations this morning?
