    Buying TVs online...

Well, got my Panasonic TH-50PZ77U yesterday and getting DirecTV HD installed as I type. I was pretty nervous (obviously) about the whole buying online thing but it's seemed to have worked out well. And I paid less than 500 dollars what BB/Circuit City was charging. Thanks for all the help.

    Buying TVs online...

Sorry, being a girl about this. I know I need to check the tv over pretty good when it's delivered. Should I actually unpack it and turn it on while the delivery people are here? I've just never bought a huge item like this online so forgive my ignorance.

    Buying TVs online...

Well, I caught the 1599 deal at Frys.com for the Panny 50pz77u and pulled the trigger. Now the worry sets in until I get a look at the darn thing. Hopefully everything works out. Wanted to used amazon but they were still over 2000 on this tv. Wish me luck.

    Buying TVs online...

I think I'm looking at getting the Panny 50PZ77U. Prices have dropped on some online vendors. I'm hoping amazon follows. I would like a 30 return policy if possible on non defective items. Abe's has a great price but only offers a return if it's defective. I haven't been able to find this tv in...

    Buying TVs online...

Trying to pick between an LCD (Samsung 4669F) and Plasma (Panasonic 50PX77U). This will be my first HDTV. Wondering which technology or model will be more "future proof". And what do people feel about extended warranties? Thanks.

Also checking out the Panasonic 50PZ77U. I've never like the glare from the plasmas but the PQ has been great. I'll have to check it out in the store. Anyone have this? I've read up on AVS.

I can see how it might almost look fake, to a certain extent. The picture was so clear it was scary. Maybe that would look weird after a while. I think I want the matte finish so I think I'll go with the 61 or maybe try the 69. Thank you so much for the help!

Do you notice the motion blur on the 65? I was really turned off by that one I saw the other night. I'm probably wrongly lumping all LCDs in the same area. I don't remember what make/model that was. I'm guessing some LCDs handle the blurring issue better?

That's unreal. I see a couple other online places that are a few bucks cheaper but Amazon beats them with the free shipping. I'm just trying to narrow it down to at least the technology I want. Overall I've like the Plasma's PQ, but don't like the reflection. Like the DLP price and PQ...

    Budget Stores/HDTV shopping

I know. TVs are now just like buying computers. Always going to something better than what you buy and what you bought will always get cheaper. I've really never spent this kind of money on a tv before so I'm trying to get the most bang for the buck. I started out the budget at 1000 and after...

Amazon has the 71 at appox. 2350. Our top line is 2000. They have a 69F for about 2000. They seem pretty close. Could I expect a picture close to the 71? Contrast ratio was the only difference I can see in the specs.

Went to Best Buy today... Looked at West. TX-47F430S-1299 Samsung LNT 4661F-1629 Samsung LNT4671-2799 The 4671 had a Blu ray movie playing and was just unbelievable. Is that because of the 1080p or the 120hz or the Blu ray? It almost looked 3d. Can I get close to that with any of the...

What does 120hz even refer to? Like a refresh rate or something? Plasmas must not use the same technology so they aren't affected by it? I'm also looking for something that will last awhile and I'm not sure about plasmas. Sorry to be asking what you guys must think are stupid questions. I've...

    Budget Stores/HDTV shopping

Ok...Went to my local electronics store tonight... I know I want... 46-50" HDTV/1080p $1500 budget I went in thinking LCD but I really noticed the "trail" effect on moving objects on many models. So the sales guy was moving me to the plasmas. The TV will be in a relatively bright room...

    Buying TVs online...

I've been able to find some VERY good deals online lately. Has anyone ever done this? I just couldn't see not looking at the picture first, even though store feeds aren't the best either. Office Depot has a 46" Westinghouse for 899 right now. Any advice for buying online? Thx

Space isn't an issue, at least for my main TV. If I start upgrading bedrooms, I'd go LCD/Plasma. How do I know if the DLP I'm looking at is LED based?

Is there a good unbiased place to view the pros and cons of each type of HDTV technology. LCD vs Plasma vs DLP. I'm leaning towards DLP because it seems the larger models (46-50) are cheaper in cost. I know there's a bulb issue and bowing problems. Also, how important is the contrast ratio...

    Budget Stores/HDTV shopping

What are people's thoughts on shopping for TVs at discount stores, ie. Walmart. My budget is only probably 1000-1500 and would like something between 46-50". I know the general rule is you get what you pay for. A tv/home theater bundle would even be better.

    FoxSportsNet North in HD...

Question... I live in SE WI and have Milwaukee locals using Dish Network. Currently, on my non HD TV, I receive Brewers games on an alternate channel when the games are being played. Otherwise FSN North is Minnesota programming. This year many Brewers games will be broadcast in HD, and FSN...

    New to HDTV....

Hi all... Have a relative who's looking to subscribe to Dish HDTV. He's currently a Charter cable subscriber (We're in WI). Charter advertises that with their HD system, you'll get locals in HD (where available). Is that the same with DISH? We get Milwaukee locals with the local channel...

625: Channels changing on their own...

What's funny is they're probably freaking out themselves! I kept thinking my dog was laying on a remote. I kicked her off the couch like 5 times! The UHF remotes are touchy enough the way it is. I didn't think it was this bad.
