My wally has a G4 smart card but my 211k had a G3. Any reason dish never sent a new card for the 211k? I originally was receiving a smart card error message. Could it have been I just needed the G4 card?

Just noticed on the Wally I can record two shows on different channels at the same time. :)

USB wifi adapter on its way then everything will work. This receiver is a lot nicer than the old VIP211k and a lot smaller. :)

I ordered a wifi adapter but I haven't received it yet. Now just have to reschedule all my timers.

I have real nice remote. It has voice commands I believe I haven't messed with it yet.

Just did the test switch it found all 3 satellites with a check under each one. It seems to be thinking about working right now. Fingers crossed. lol.

I had been wanting one for a while so now is my opportunity.

I opened the receiver and blew out all the dust and examined the card reader as best as I could other than a lot of dust nothing noticable. I did the business card trick also I tried using a pencil eraser on the chip nothing working. A new receiver seems to be my solution. Thanks for everyone's...

Do they require a new contract if I order a receiver from a different source other than dish? If it's not a VIP 211k. I was considering getting the wally hd. I never had a contract with this receiver because I installed the dish and receiver myself.

Just chatted with DISH they said I need a new receiver. Is that the standard response? Or is it still possible for them to just send me a new card?

Will any replacement receiver if needed allow me to still access the recordings on my EHD? Or will I need another VIP211k?
